Description of Footage Calculator

Footage Calc is a way to calculate board feet and square feet easily while in a rush or in the lumber yard, with a calculator section to help with conversions. Board footage calculator allows for the input of length, width, thickness, and total pieces. Length and width allow for both feet and inches to be entered, while inches allows for decimals to be entered. Thickness entry allows for decimal value to be entered while pieces can be entered in as whole numbers. There is an option that allows for price to be entered, but this is optional. A description can be entered for each input if needed, but is an optional input. Each input is recorded an tallied where the current entry is calculated, and a running tally of all entries. These inputs are displayed in a table below the computations. After inputs are complete, an option is given to allow for a CSV file to be created of all inputs and emailed to the user or others. Square footage calculator allows the user to input length and width. Length can be entered as a whole number and inches can be entered with a decimal if needed. There is also a description input that allows for each input to be labeled. After each input, a tally is kept to keep the total square footage and the number of pieces. Also, each input calculation is displayed. All inputs are then stored into a table below where entries can be removed if needed. There is a CSV export feature that allows for each entry to be saved to a CSV file and exported via email to the user or others. Calculator allows for the user to convert number to fraction and to reverse and convert a fraction to a number. Also, a length converter is provided to convert a number measurement to another measurement. The types of inputs excepted are inches, feet, yards, meters, millimeters and centimeters.

Reviews of Footage Calculator

Problems

Doesn't allow to print, save or export file when calculating BF. Major problem for me. No support at all. Works fine otherwise. Better hand write your calculations down if they are important or find another app. Wish I hand know this before paying for it.

Increased rating because the developer contacted me through the review and I appreciate it. However I am aware of the export feature but it does not work. No way to reply except through review. The app is easy to use and most importantly accurate. Wish the export feature worked. Just closes the app out when exporting. Using IPad Pro.

Response from developer

In the upper right corner of the Board Foot calculator there is an export button. This will allow for you to export your calculations as a CSV file. You can then send you generated file via email or text message. We will look into this. Thank you for providing the details. We have discussed a save feature to the users device. Thank you for your review!

Best BF Calculator

This is by far the best Board Foot calculator I have found! Had an issue with CSV file importing and programmer fix it right away. Great App!

Not what I’m looking for.

I don’t like paying for something with a failing description. Says excepts metric, except that is only for the conversion. Looking for an App that excepts any length type measurement and can still handle conversion and cost calculation based on BF prices. Looks like I’ll have to make the App myself.

Response from developer

I do apologize for the confusion. The description did not say that metric was a choice. We broke the Description up into sections to explain each component of the app. In the last paragraph we stated conversion between 2 different units for the calculator tab. As always we do appreciate your feedback. To avoid future confusion, we will reword and organize our description to prevent this from happening again. Also, we will take into consideration metric calculations throughout our app. Again, thank you for your review.
