Likes the ideas for Zeus wife’s to make up with Jesus and Muhammad and Buddha and Hindus gods and Allah's but incapable of disgusting Zion from the brain when reincarnation was represented as heaven.
This presentation for god during the beginning of time was remarkable for reparations for Zeus .
    Will read again!

Not sure if it is intentional but the commentary is missing chapters. Of course it is the ch I need. John :6.

Great way to gain insight into scripture!
  • Good commentary, dislike the app

I have a very high regard for John Calvin and his commentaries, but I don’t like the app. In my first use I was hit with a Spanish language ad (why an English language app would have a Spanish ad is puzzling), and I had no clue how to get out of it when it was done. When I finally got to the commentary it had an easy to use way to go to the book, chapter, and verse, but to go to the commentary on the next verse you have to go through the search process again rather than just clicking an arrow to continue. And for some unexplained reason, the first paragraph was in a regular font, and the rest in italics. This is just an annoying app to use.

I love this app but cannot figure out how to get rid of the ads, and I am willing to pay a bit to do so.
  • Could be more user friendly...

I enjoy reading the commentary provided and find it very encouraging, but I find navigating the app a bit frustrating. When reading the commentary you’ll see a reference. If you click on said reference it will take you to the Bible portion of the app, but you will not be able to go back to where you left off in the commentary portion; you’ll have to start all over.

Also, when wanting to go to the next verse that has commentary (say I’m reading Luke 17:7 and want to go to vs. 10 which is what’s included) I have to start over (choose book, chapter, verse). This all takes time and interrupts flow of thought.

  • One of the best apps ever

Love this app, all I can say is that try it and you’ll love it too, it’s free an full of great doctrinal truths, what have you got to lose. I have many commentaries by some of the early church fathers and contemporary writers this one brings balanced theological insight to them all. With this and other foundation commentaries you can compare the premier doctrines of scriptures, it’s almost like having a front seat in the middle of the great debates of history concerning the affects, faith, doctrines and purpose of the Atonement and saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • Great, but...

Content is excellent and precisely follows Calvin’s written commentary. App falls short in ease of use. If you want to study a passage, you can only do so one verse at a time. At the completion of each verse, you are required to select your book, chapter, and subsequent verse all over again. Would be a 5 out of 5 if not for this user-unfriendly issue.

  • It’s great

The clarity mr Calvin gives to the scripture is extremely revealing and helpful.
