  • I like the app features!

So I grew up always hearing someone say these words and phrases and I don’t know how to spell them so if I was to try to type it into a sentence, I would be absolutely confused. So when I’m looking at the way it’s properly spelled I’m like what the heck is that; but then when I listen to the pronunciation, I’m like that’s exactly what my grandmother was saying!! It’s mostly nice for me because that’s what she told me it meant and all my grandparents are dead now so it’s really cool to see how it’s supposed to be spelled. Then see the words my grandmother used to say to be able to learn how to spell these things. Now I can become someone who’s not just someone who can say the words I can also write them down or put them in a sentence or make up statement and know exactly what it says, and I know that the way we pronounce it has our own accent, which is why it was always hard for me to put it together with proper French because we use the older dialect than the proper French! It makes it really really hard to learn from the words I remember with proper French spelling and phrasing and word usage. I love this app!

  • Brings back memories

This brings back so many memories… my grandparents use to speak Cajun French when they didn’t want us grand bebes to understand what they were saying… my granny would teach me a few words but I used to love hearing my grandparents speak in French!!!!
  • Ugh

I really hope the developers get to see this. So I tried to like this game really, truly I did. My dad is fully Cajun French and says most of the words are wrong. And you don’t have Acadia, and that’s a really important word for Cajuns. Also I just hate how I can’t get lessons on the words, like 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

  • Misinformation

Some of the translations are wildly incorrect.
  • The voice recordings really make this app

My maw maw and paw paw died a few years ago and it’s important to me to carry on my cajun heritage because it was important to them. The voice recordings remind me of my grandparents and make me feel like I’m home.
  • Best Gift

I only have distant Cajun roots. My grandmother knew Cajun when she was a child but has long since forgotten it.

My husband is a true blue Cajun. His grandmother only spoke Cajun, he dad knows it but doesn’t have anyone to speak it with, and my husband knows some.

I came here to learn it for a number of reasons. To speak it and see my grandmother’s eyes light up, To make my husband proud, and to give the gift of a beloved life my father in law used to have.

This language means a lot to us and I can’t thank you all enough for having built this.

Cook you some rice, Learn you some Cajun, and comme ca!
