Journal X User Reviews

Top reviews

The basics and then some.

I have only had this for a day, but i see that the base version is a good basic journalling application. Have to pay more for the bells and whistles. But there is a lot of cool stuff on the standard version too.
I would like to see text formatting, like bold/italics/underline. Additionally, i had to go back through my entry and put all the periods back in because they mysteriously disappeared.
Besides the period thing (hopefully a one-time glitch) this app has potential, and i am pleased.

Thanks for the positive review and suggestions for my app. It’s very nice to read good reviews because it motivates me to keep publishing new features and make Journal X better for you guys.

Potential to be a really cool app

EDIT:
Since my initial review, the developer has very generously contacted me and solved the issue. This app is definitely one of the better journaling apps I’ve tried, and they intend to make an update with bug fixes soon so I highly recommend!

Original review:
I paid for journal x pro mini, and the app is really cool with a nice aesthetic and good layout. I am a little annoyed that several features that I paid for do not work, such as adding stickers to my journal entries. I’m also extremely annoyed that when I deleted the app and reinstalled it to try and fix the problem, I lost all my journal entries and yet all the rest of my info (passcode, reminder settings etc) were still there? Kinda rude but ok

I'm really sorry for the inconvenience caused, Raph. It's a bug that stickers don't unlock with pro version. We're working on that bug and will fix it ASAP. The reason your data didn't restored was because you upgraded to Journal X Pro Mini which doesn't support cloud storage, only Journal X Pro does. To make up for the data loss, I can offer you Journal X Pro for free. Please email to journalapp9@gmail.com I'm again very sorry for trouble caused. We actually tried contacting you on email to explain this situation before at raph.subra@gmail.com Hope you change your ratings. Let me us if any other questions. Amogh

Inconsiderate

So, not even the first day I try it, it asks me for access to all of my stuff. Then it asks me to pay, and I don’t. It glitches out when I try to skip and my phone just shuts down. I keep trying, and finally I get past it. If I don’t want to pay right now, that shouldn’t mean that I get hassled by an app. It has lots of potential, but expects us to pay for it. At least make the lock free. That really disappointed me. A lot of these cheap apps expect me to pay for security, and I find that pathetic. Please fix it and I’ll up my rating. I get you need to make money, but don’t make it off of people’s need for privacy. That’s very rude.

Online Diary

This app is a good idea but I found that features like multiple diaries and passcode lock only work if you subscribe and it demands too much money. Look for another online diary - if you can't find one, try this but I don't recommend

Response from developer

Thank you so much for kind words.

I have to pay!?

First of all it is stupid that I have To pay just to get a lock or stickers or extra iCloud storage. I got this app because I thought it would let me express my feelings and have a safe way to do it but no you’re making me paid to do that it’s stupid.

Horrible

I was really unimpressed I got this app only because it stood out to me that you could have multiple journals then I realize you have to buy a year pass or something to be able to have multiple journals which to be honest I do not feel like is worth 20$ so if you change this to at least let us make like 2 separate ones and if we want anymore you have to buy great! But until then I am not happy with this app.

It’s hard to choose.

There are so many types of journals out there, but I think this app is almost perfect. It has the selfie a day, stickers, and reminders which are all great and fun, but can you ADD prompts like those 5 year journals? Just a quick question or idea to get the user thinking. Like “who inspires you today?” Etc. You would only need 365 questions and after they would be re-occurring so the user can see past answers and see how they have grown emotionally, physiologically, and not just physically with the pictures. It can be like an option.... I think it would be a great addition. I can’t do multiple journals a day! It’s hard to choose.

Hi Steph, Thank you so much for your review and suggestions. We really appreciate our user feedback. Although I can’t guarantee ETA for this feature, you can expect this feature of questions prompts in Journal X in next few months. Thank you again for your valuable suggestions. Response from developer

Great to know that Journal X is keeping up with your expectations.

Looks great!

Hey I just discovered this app like literally an hour ago and I’ve been doing a lot of comparing and out of all the other journaling apps like this one wayyyyy better! But however it will be nice that we could upload videos just Incase a journalist doesn’t feel like typing... I really hope you all take this into consideration Bc I will most definitely be using this app faithfully!!!! 🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️
