Reviews of The Flexibility Challenge

  • Just what I was looking for

I’m in my 30s, lifelong fitness enthusiast, and I take my flexibility seriously. But, I’m in between plans right now (reworking my routines), and I needed something I could start quickly that would still keep me in shape. It’s SO HARD to find good fitness apps that focus on flexibility in a real way (beyond posture corrections, quad & hamstring stretches), which is such a shame because it can be so rewarding, especially for women (who have better than average flexibility than men). It’s easy to find apps that have 20 different push ups, but not 20 different stretches! And yoga is great, but it has a strength component that doesn’t make it useful for cooling down from other workouts.

This app reads like a book and is easy to understand. It took about 30 minutes to skim the whole thing, and I’ll read it in better detail when I try the routines. I don’t do flexibility routines by themselves, but after workouts, for at least 20-30 minutes. I have my own warm up routine I do before my workout, so I’ll probably skip those for now and just do a dynamic and / or a static routine. Other than a yoga strap, I only noticed one exercise using a yoga wheel, which I don’t own, but I found one on Amazon for $20.

This app is great for anyone interested in improving their flexibility. Even if you’re an experienced dancer or gymnast, I recommend this app for fresh ideas, and for the fantastic tips. It’s relatively short and simple, but very concise and a unique program in its own right.
