Fun but annoying
Decently fun but a bunch of mechanics & interactions aren’t actually explained, so you’re left figuring out for yourself how the game works which is really annoying.
Good concept ruined by poor game design and glitches
I've completed the main campaign of this and done a lot of the chaos realm runs (just daily challenges), so I have experienced basically everything in the game. So let me tell you that it is not really worth your time. If you have an Apple Arcade subscription, there are many more games that you should play instead.
First, the game design. Random levels in the main campaign have a horrendous level spike where you can only win via RNG on these levels (trust me, I had at this point already purchased all the gear you can buy). Then, in comparison to this, the bosses are extremely easy. Not to mention that you purchase every upgrade possible by the time you're a third of the way into the campaign.
Second, the glitches. They vary in intensity but WILL show up. Some are beneficial, such as weapons that break after one hit not doing so. But the vast majority are game breaking. Decks that are face-up may randomly flip face-down and you won't be able to access those cards. Sometimes your weapon behaves incorrectly, such as you weilding a slingshot like it is a sword, which you won't know until it is too late. And the worst part about all this? Every time there's a glitch and you want to fix it, you have to close and reopen the game. And it takes too long with how often you have to do it.
Only reason I'm continuing to play is because I'm trying to 100% the game. Play any other Apple Arcade game but this.

Amazing and unique, one nitpick
Such an amazing and unique game with a fantastic art style and vibe.
My one qualm is that the name of the app on the Home Screen is CardOfDarkness which messes with my OCD—it should be a little “of”! 🙈

Game is impossible
I can't beat the second level.
This is not even a joke review, the second level is impossible. Tried it like 10 times and I can barely reach the second floor.
Game says " you don't have to pick up every card" but you need to beat every revealed ennemies, which will reveal every card in most instances.
No idea how you're suppose to actually play this game adequately.

Fun, but needs a casual mode
This game has great artwork, and is fun while it lasts but the difficulty wall is steep and hits fast. It basically stops me from being able to enjoy the game not long after starting play, and becomes frustrating and then just painful.
I want to play this again and learn to “get good” but I don’t have time, so I’m asking the devs either put in a casual mode with infinite life so we can explore the later levels at our leisure, for this old game, or add even more of a easier mode than just one extra life.

Great but strange design choices
The actual game is great (hence the 5 stars) but the developer has made some strange choices that really hamper the post game experience. For instance the campaign itself is very short and while not an issue on its own, the post game content is limited in ways that don’t make a lot of sense. The daily challenges are fantastic - better in some instances then the campaign. However you are limited to a maximum of 3 attempts a day. While I get limiting the attempts that allow you to earn gold, it doesn’t make sense to not let the player replay the levels without rewards. Particularly as the challenge increases as the week goes on and so games late in the week can be really short. As another reviewer said, the game would also benefit from an endless mode to challenge yourself. Again, there doesn’t need to be rewards outside of a PB to beat and it would instantly transform the post-game content. They are certainly aware of this as these issues (reviewers have been commenting about this since the games release) so it’s surprising they haven’t made any changes. Regardless, it’s still a fun little game that I did enjoy playing.

Alright but could be better
Art style is a little exhausting and feels odd a parts. in all honesty it feels like your following an autistic child's adventure through a forest playing make-pretend. Some parts like sometimes showing his bare buttocks when you die are pretty questionable. Gameplay gets tiring, many mechanics feel like they're annoying for the sake of being annoying. Randomly stopped working for me at one point so some bug issues. It's generally fun and the boss battles are a good highlight but otherwise tiring

Slingshots are bugged??
I love this game and I play it for a few minutes almost every day. I really really want to give it 5 stars, but I had to knock one because of a bug.
Starting just today, my rock slingshots don’t work as ranged weapons anymore! They work just like daggers instead: melee, break without even/odd parity, still decreasing by 1 per hit.
This bug makes the Card of Sickness completely useless and causes me to take much more damage than I should. Certain combat situations that were fine before have become unplayable, and I have less strategic options.
It’s getting really irritating to have next to no ranged weapon options! Help!

Absolutely Terrible
One of the worst strategy card games I have played. It is pure RNG with very little thought towards actual planning or strategy. Cannot even get past second level when all the enemies have 7+ health and I don’t even get weapon cards. Basic premise of the game seems to be to just try over and over and over until you get lucky with all card flips. Extremely frustrating design, would recommend avoiding. This was my fastest uninstall from Apple Arcade.

Wonderful, with some consistent bugs
Very good, indeed. It’s fun to play the daily challenge like working on a crossword, and feel yourself getting better. It’s a bummer when a bug means that you lose a match, though, because you only have three shots at the daily matches. In particular, sometimes the slingshots act like daggers.
