Price History of Queens of Ancient Egypt

Description of Queens of Ancient Egypt

At the dawn of history, only Egypt granted women equal civil rights. Royal women had real power as Viziers and Regents and some even ruled Egypt as Kings in their own right. This App contains a bit of history for each of these remarkable ladies. Browse and discover their stories or use the App as a convenient, pocket reference. This app allows you to browse through the centuries and 33 dynasties of Egyptian history. You can also search by name for a Queen or her Pharaoh. More than 200 Queens are known in Egyptian history and contained in this App. Where the information is available, the App gives you the Queen's name in English and hieroglyphs, her Pharaoh, her parents and prominent children, her official titles and ranks, and her burial site. You also get direct access to the Queen's biography kept up to date on Wikipedia. To learn about the Queen's Pharaoh, the App directly links to the companion App "Pharaohs of Egypt"

Reviews of Queens of Ancient Egypt

  • Speak their names and they live forever!

We seem to know so little about these women, but this app links to the stories that have been discovered. A rare bit of ancient history where there was near gender equality. The app is a bit dry being basically a big database, but it is well designed and seems to work well.
  • Nice Idea

Well executed! I wish there were more stories about more of the queens. I guess we just have to settle for the historical record 🙂
  • Very informative

Less Is known about the royal ladies of the ancient world than the men. Egypt gave much more of a role to women than other societies and documented their lives to a greater extent. This app is fantastic because it collects most of what is known about the Queens into a nice portable library on your phone. I just walked through the Met and read about some queens as I found their artifacts! Thumbs up!
