Description of Poker 3

You are the last human. The robots have captured you and placed you here, where every discontinued robot comes to be recycled. This is their basement. This is their game. Can you survive? Poker 3-5-7 is a mind blowing variation of human poker with each hand consisting of 3 rounds where players, in turn, declare in or out. Only players who declare in get to see that round’s showdown. Occasionally, as the game progresses, a player (that includes you) may be forced to declare a certain way - no matter how distressing that may be. Add to that alternating wild cards, an ever increasing pot, flying chips and wisecracking robots that have a general dislike for you and you’ve got one frustratingly entertaining game. Oh, did we mention, the winner is the only one that doesn’t get crushed?

  • Too slooooooowwwww

A lot of effort went into making this game, so it pains me to write a bad review. But, because a ton of time is wasted with needless graphics and movements, the game plays exceedingly slow. Even the payments between players after a round slowly click through in increments instead of just transferring. A robot getting eliminated takes a chunk of time to be crushed. They got too cute with gameplay, and it makes the game almost unbearable.
Graphic of selection of the dealer at the beginning is ridiculously dumb and too long.
An option for quicker play would go a long way into improving the game experience.

    Developer Response

Done. Now there is a 'Fast Animations' switch in Settings. With this ON, all animations will be 10 times faster. It also makes the initial dealer selection instantaneous. Please try Poker 3-5-7 again with this switch turned ON in Settings and let us know how you like the game now. We always like to hear what we can improve on. The occasional praise is nice as well!
  • Worst game

For some reason lower hands beat you when you have a better hand

    Developer Response

This could be due to the fact that the wild card changes every round. Now the current wild cards are in yellow. We hope you’ll try 3-5-7 out again. We’re pretty sure you won’t notice this anymore.
  • Stupid

Far and away the worst game I’ve ever played. You are FORCED to play and not allowed to fold, EVEN when you know you’re beat. Additionally, the games take WAY too long. Designer didn’t think this one through.

    Developer Response

Thanks for giving 3-5-7 a shot. You’re right about how long it took to play a game. That’s why we added faster animations and the ability to choose how many credits everyone starts out with. You can change these in Settings. Also, when there are only 2 players left, the ante now doubles at the start of each new hand. These changes really speed up gameplay. As for your main complaint, later on in a game, a player may occasionally find he has to declare a certain way (no matter how detrimental) in order to keep the game going. We based this app off of a real poker variant that we've been playing for years. That is how the real game is played. Keep in mind that sometimes your opponents are forced into making bad plays, too. And every once in a while you can force a robot into that very situation.
