  • Purchased?

I downloaded this app, pressed the button to open and it tells me “thank you for your purchase “.
    What purchase?
I merely wanted to go in and see how this app worked , I didn’t want to purchase anything! And what did I purchase? The .99/month option or the $35 option? This app doesn’t tell what you bought and I didn’t want to buy anything.
Now, how do I get out of this mess???? I don’t want this app and I don’t want to be stuck paying for something.
Beware! This app is very sneaky and deceiving!

RMfletch We have run through the app on multiple Apple devices. In each case, there are at least three steps before you can purchase anything. You also have to create an account when purchasing any of our products by entering a username and password. Finally, you have to enter your payment information to purchase any of our products. Feel free to contact us at info@myobits.com if you still feel as though you were deceived. We take confidentiality and security very seriously. Finally, having served 30 years in the funeral profession, we go above and beyond to inform before a purchase is made because we understand our users can be in a state of grief. We will look into this immediately and update you shortly. It is not our intent to deceive.
  • Joke

It’s a joke I typed in one name and Immediately responded with no obits found. Don’t waste your time

Davestan1965 The database is certainly not as large as we would like it to be at this time. In order to purchase that database owned by a company that sells your obituary for profit, we would have had to pay over $30,000 a month. Did you try out the obituary creation process for free. That is our core function. We would be excited to hear your opinion on that portion of the app. Thanks for connecting.
  • A Much Needed Solution to Posting Obituaries

I’m glad that someone made an app to ease the process of creating and listing an obituary. I’m not the most tech savvy person but even I found the app to be easy to navigate through. I was able to post my obituary for a much lower price than what my local newspaper was asking for. I loved that I could share my obituary with my friends and family who live in other states. It’s a difficult process when losing a loved one but this app made part of the process much easier, and for that, I am thankful. Highly recommended!!

  • Subscribes you to monthly fee

I just wanted to see if this app was worth the effort and entered a search term into its obit search form. Up pops a message that I have subscribed to the unlimited obit search option for 99 cents a month. I didn’t create an account and there was no option to choose no, I don’t want to subscribe. I also can’t find any menu in the app where I can op out or stop the subscription.

MemorialMusic, we reviewed the process and found no bugs. The message you saw was explaining that in order to filter obituaries by keyword you would incur a subscription of .99 a month. There was no charge to you. This process is currently being rebuilt from the ground up. Creating an obituary to preview and manually searching for obituaries is free to every user. We have also noted a change in the explanation for notifications thanks to your review and we appreciate your input. Please look for the update in the next week. Again, thank you for helping us better MyObits in the future.
