We flew from South America to Greece to have the vacation of our life’s with family and friends. A group of 16 divided between a Catamaran and a Sailboat chartered with borrow-a-boat, operated by el-yatchting.
First day checking in the Catamaran one of the rooms had a broken A/C and the generator in the boat had a warning sign “Maintenance required”, it was clear from the beginning of the reservations that A/C was a must for our party and still one couple had to sacrifice sleeping with A/C because we where on a schedule.
No surprise, the generator broke half way our journey and needed to go back to Lefkada to get to fixed, loosing a day as the technician was not there when we arrived to port (and the skipper called the technician 2/3 hours before) we waited about and hour for the technician and he could solve the issue and had to called and electrician. You can imagine how bad was the Generator that needed two specialist to get it fixed.
With this said, which where mechanical issues with the boat we also had issues with the skipper and his attitude. We learned half way the skipper was only 22 yrs old and clearly lack of customer service experience.
I can go on and on but lastly I will say that in order to enjoy our time and beauty of the Ionian island we had to make “peace” with all the disperfects on the boat and attention from the owners of el-yathching and decided to finish the trip and speak to Mike from borrow-a-boat. It has being a month and the last response from Mike was August 19th, we have written two follow up emails after that with no response from Mike.
So guys, look around other charterers for you next boating vacations!!
