Poor location finder
I did check to be sure location services was turned on for this app and it was. I had no problems with other apps using my location but this one I did. I will try again after the storm fully passes - maybe that has something to do with it.

Hi Greta’s mom. The app uses your phone’s own GPS so you may want to check your location settings. You can also confirm your zone at scemd.org.

Location is based on your phone’s own GPS.

The SC Emergency Manager is all about you and your personal emergency plan. Sure, there are tons of apps that provide news, but this one is all about you and having all of your emergency information in our place. We hope you take the time to explore the app and if you have any suggestions for how to improve the feature, send us an email at mobile@emd.sc.gov. Thank you!
Huge disappointment
all the best.
Thank you

We think you might be confusing our app with Wireless Emergency Alerts issued by the National Weather Service and other agencies when a life-threatening emergency exists. The SC Emergency Manager is not connected to these alerts for the very reasons you describe. While you may receive push notifications through the app, those are quiet and you have the ability to deactivate them. The SC Emergency Manager is all about you and your personal emergency information. While we understand your comments, we hope that you reconsider your review given that it was not this application that sent those alerts. Feel free to contact us at mobile@emd.sc.gov.
