  • For the iPhone user!

Thank you so much. Works great! I just got it but overall very pleased.
  • App barely works

The interface is very hard to use. What can it even do with a VESC? The only real value it has is to show the battery percentage. Beyond that it is not useful.
  • Not accurate

When by battery is fully charged, the app shows 93% and 49.3v instead of 50.4 (the battery is brand new and good as verified with a meter). Also speed and distance readings are off. I’m bummed I paid for this app. My friend is having the same issue with it. I’m thinking about getting a cheap android phone just to use for my board.
EDIT: got a new VESC and the battery readout is working now.

  • Good between iPhone and Focbox Unity

I’m very surprised with how quick and consistent the connection is between my iPhone and Focbox Unity. My critique is that I’m not able to change between modes, so I’m stuck with the settings I last loaded onto the ESC. I’d like to see more interface customization; specifically being able to customize which parameters you’re viewing, and in what order. That would be a huge plus. The battery gauge on the main screen is a bit glitchy. It says my battery is at 0% when it’s at 40%. Another point to improve is the map. It often automatically zooms back into your current location when you’re trying to zoom out to see where you’ve been. Finally, and most importantly (lofty as it may be), I’d like to be able to go in and edit the settings on my Focbox Unity. I know that Enertion has an Android app for that, and never got around to developing the IOS, so this will have to do. All in all, I’d say it’s worth the $6 that I paid for it.

  • A great app, that just works

I’ve never had a problem with it. It’s easy to open and start a ride; I never feel inconvenienced or hindered by it.

One feature that is great is fault logging, which is great for debugging your VESC settings.

However, I considered giving this review 4 stars because the app is sorely missing a feature. It does not log the current, speed, distance, etc for the entire ride- only the max/mins of each. I hoped when I got this app, I would easily be able to see a line graph of current draw over time, to see where on my ride I was drawing the most power.

  • Eh... 1 big flaw

modes aren't working properly for 2 motor systems where slave motor goes in reverse after applying a mode. Love the app for everything else but sometimes i would like speed modes and i can’t do them.
  • Good basic features, but needs polishing

Overall, app connected to the board without much effort. The stats seem to feed real-time and also show up on my Apple Watch. I really like the simple watch UI, which is the primary reason I downloaded the app. Now to the issues...

    1. Apple Watch app needs to stay on the screen like a workout app, it disappears after timeout making it hard to pull up current speed and battery life.

    2. Need a way to save off and restore the current parameters on the board. Right now, you lose configs very easily. Maybe at a minimum have the + populate with the existing values currently on the board.

    3. CAN FWD should be a first class UI element. It’s too clunky to switch back and forth when changing modes or wanting to see stats.

    4. Ideally, stats would be read from the CAN bus in real time. Doubling the single motor stats is a reasonable estimation I guess.

    5. Not all stats doubling is functioning properly (i.e motor temp is doubled).

    6. TCP Bridge! Would love to avoid opening up my enclosure to do VESC Tool config.

Thanks for development the app and feel free to reach out to discuss the issues noted.

  • Pretty looking but needs some love

The app interface is pretty and the overall usability is good, but the core functionality needs some love — The numbers on the stats screen change too frequently and the battery indicator too. I’m not sure this is a VESC issue or app issue, but it makes the app unusable. Also speed modes ended up messing with my VESC configuration and I had to go back to VESC tool to reconfigure again. This and other rough edges are a bummer because the rest of the app is pretty good. Fix these issues and polish some of the rough edges and it will be a 5 star.

  • Connects but doesn’t display any info

    App works great!!
  • Eskate app

The app works great with my Metrobard X the only think that I will like to see change is the reading of the motor temp in F not only in C
Even tho I selected F is reading in C
