  • Worthless and unmaintained app

Imagine you have a “smart thermos” that can heat itself on a stand while you go and do some other things around your house or office. Does the app tell you what is the current temperatures of the liquid so you can tell when you might be interested in drinking? No. Does the app tell you when the liquid reaches the desired temperature? No! Do the preset settings automatically adjust the app’s manual control? No!! What does the app do? As far as I can tell, the only thing the app may be good for is to allow you to remotely set the temperature target without having the touch the container, but you have to do that anyway when you place it on the stand. Also, the links for the user’s manual and customer support bring up network certificate errors since the app is using untrusted Cloudflare certs. You can still get to the website locations if you accept that you are okay with using these untrusted certs, but why should any of Cauldryn’s users have to put up with that? Improve the app!

  • Kindergarten

This app must have been written by a kindergartner. Most of it doesn’t even work. It is worthless.
  • Too basic too buggy

This app is buggy it jumps around on the temp and times out when you are setting the temp to jump to the next screen.
The developers really need to update it. This is 100 cup and deserves a better app. My teenager can make a better more user friendly app.
  • Primitive App

Some selections take effect as soon as you go to that screen (black tea starts brewing) and other work only as long as you apply and maintain Bluetooth connection (setting desired drink temperature. The mug keeps defaulting back to Celsius, which may also be related to App. No complaints about few features, but they should work consistently and reliably. Please revisit this App so we can actually enjoy our mugs.

  • Disaster

Took it out of the box yesterday. Read the installation details and followed them. Six hours later found that the battery wouldn’t charge. Then tried direct connect to the mug with the heater bottom and that didn’t work either. It looks good on the outside but nothing works.
  • Meh

Was hoping this could help track battery level, but it doesn’t have that functionality. Temperature setting is fine but the app seems to confuse Celsius and Fahrenheit. All in all a very primitive app for a mug this price.
  • Eh

Functionally does what you want but the experience is lacking in feed back, it doesn’t do anything to inform me that I did gets to the cup
  • Needs update badly

I understand this a utilitarian device. It’s for the rugged person and not aimed for the same market as its competitors. However, they should at least take some cues from them. The app isn’t formatted for the new phones. The Bluetooth looses connection. The UI is something reminiscent of a first generation App Store program. It’s great when it works, but I think that it can use some much needed polish.

  • Connects sporadically.

While I love my Cauldryn, the app reminds me of how poorly Bluetooth connected when it was introduced years ago.
Nope it’s not my iPhone or my iPad. I have several degrees in tech. I know how to boot reboot and tweak.
It takes less time to reach over to the Cauldryn and manually adjust the temp.
The app is useless, don’t waste your time.

  • Shockingly helpful

Ok. I have to admit that I downloaded this app out of morbid curiosity, expecting a terrible mess of an app. I’m not usually happy with the experience that Internet of Things/Companion App equipped electronics offer. Never the less, off I went.

The short version is that this app is actually really useful. It has all the presets you’d want, and presumably uses Bluetooth LE to quickly and painlessly connect. Nothing more, nothing less. It’s actually easier to use the App than the physical buttons. What a strange world we live in!
