Great, if a little impenetrable - UPDATE
Obtained this to integrate with AudioBus, which it seems to do fine. The documentation may assume you already have some familiarity with this type of processing, but the examples help a lot. I was able to filter out mod wheel and expression controllers that I didn’t want sent to some instruments, and limit the range of notes sent to others.
Update April 2024 - I still think this is a great problem-solver. I used it for interfacing a keyboard which sends too many CCs to external gear, and I could block some messages and transform others to what I wanted. The example presets contain all of the techniques I needed (with some adaptation).

Amazing
If you want to do something with midi, streambyter will get you there. The language is conciseand insanely powerful. Nic has vision to ensure the language does what you need it to.
Also... its free!?!?

Not just great fun, but...
...indispensable.
Especially if one likes a little haphazard musical generation.
6.8mb of adulterated MIDI streams!

Free MIDI looper!!
After an exhaustive search for a decent quantising MIDI looper, I and completely by chance, discovered that Streambyter has one already built in, and it’s utterly brilliant. 5 stars. Just like that.
This is what I have been looking for, for about 2 years.
Fantastic information available on audiobus blog as well that got me excited to start.
I have a KorgNanokeyStudio, which is a rad little midi controller but I hate having to configure it with a silly GUI tool and on a PC! Now I can update signals on the fly, and have custom mappings for different contexts!
Sensational game changer.

Just works
This is a great app for MIDI massaging. I can create multiple banks of controls from the 8 encoders on Xtouch Mini. I can send commands back to the controller as well as on to the apps. Subroutines let you package common functions, simplifying the main logic. Excellent.
Awesome app,Thank you Nic.

Great must have MIDI app and great update
Now that it has presets, it’s a 6 star app. We have a true midi fanatics must have tool with the only thing missing which is now not missing. Any midi stuff that you couldn’t do, you can do with this app. If it can’t do it, then you shouldn’t be.
StreamByter rocks!
Whether in the context of MIDIFire or now as a stand-alone app, StreamByter has allowed me to realize my musical intentions more fully than ever before. This is true because of Audeonic’s unwavering support in helping its users to create StreamByter code to realize creative musical ideas and functions.
StreamByter should be part of every MIDI system.
Thank you Audeonic! You have brought joy to my musical world and that of many others.
