Milltek Sport Active Sound User Reviews

Lacking in a roadmap.

Even with the latest version with a completely fresh file update, still no additional sound files after Milltek said there would be over 2 years ago and although I have the control to set back fire, I don't hear it other than in start up. A shame that there isn't much response on actually supporting the solution at Milltek.

Revive please

Please revive this app, it would be ao cool!

App is dead

Same, really wanted to try it out, but it seems to be completely dead.

Broken

I was excited to try this on my model 3; alas, it doesn’t seem to be maintained. The app never connects and doesn’t seem to work at all.

Awesome - gives you car ‘soul’

I saw this on Instagram and looked into it. I have a Tesla and as much as I love it, it has all the driving charm of a washing machine. I had this installed and I love it! Really authentic sound and is now a joy to drive. Feels incredibly natural and fully integrated with the accelerator even ‘pops’ when you lift off. Multiple engine options selectable from the app. From a natural engine to a real head turner. Get a few double takes from passers by in a Tesla. I tell people I had an engine put it ;-)

Much safer around car parks pedestrians etc and can switch of for silent motorway cruising. Awesome 👏

Few requests for developers: more engine sound files. Ability for a ‘pedestrian safety option’ a little louder in car parks at low revs. Although a serious bit of kit more alternative fun sounds? Sheep, ducks, horses Star Trek?!

Tesla model s

Works great, connectivity is reliable.

Great app, needs a little more functionality

Bought a (dual) active sound generator for my Tesla Model 3 as I missed the sound of an engine.

Overall the app is good with the interface being relatively intuitive and straight forward to use. In saying that, there are a couple of improvements that the app (or system) really needs to make it even better, being:

1 - App has an “A-mode” button. When it’s on the generator plays sound at a constant volume which is great for a loud setup cruising around town. When it’s off the system is much quieter while idling but gives realistic volume change as you accelerate mimicking putting an engine under load. The app needs a feature that incorporates elements of both (ie a slider that lets you set the idle volume but then brings a volume change under load) - that way you could have a much louder idle volume with a load change increase as well.

2 - App comes with 10 sound files each unimaginatively named “File 1” through to “File 10”. These should be labelled with the name of the vehicle instead.

3 - The “interior sound” button in the app doesn’t work / introduce sound into the cabin (at least for my Tesla it doesn’t - maybe it works for other cars). While that probably wouldn’t be an issue for vehicles with an engine in them already (eg a diesel that you’re enhancing the sound on) for an EV there’s no engine to supplement the sound, the cabins are already well insulated, and the sound is firing out behind you as you drive away from it. As a result the vehicle desperately needs some sound being piped in through the speakers (much like BMW does with the i8). Milltek really need to find a way to make this happen to really bring the system to life. Purchasing a sound generator isn’t that cheap, and without this functionality being added my own view is that the value is questionable (as the point of the system is to actually hear it).

Scanning...

If you want an app that after allowing Bluetooth connection just sits there “whirring” saying scanning for 25 mins without connecting to your car then download. If not, do t waste your time. I have a Tesla Model 3

App does not work

simple, app doesn’t work,

Sounds like a true V8

Absolutely amazing device. Made my ranger raptor sound like a true V8. The app could be better with things such as being able to set the exhaust volume to the time of day so as not to wake the neighbours during early morning starts without having to fiddle around in the app settings to switch it off. Also names of the 8 downloaded files with the corresponding engine note it’s supposed to be would be a good idea. For example it could say File 1 V8 / File 2 V12 / File 3 Audi RS8, etc.... Regardless of these small suggestions for the app it’s still a great piece of kit and 100% convincing. I would highly recommend it to anybody looking to improve your exhaust tone.
