Description of Spoken Verse

Listen to your favorite verses or chapters, find any verse in three bible versions, or check actual wording of any bible verse with the new free app, Spoken Verse. Select a version of the bible, King James Version(KJV), New International Version(NIV), or New Living Testament(NLT), and say any bible address to have the verse/chapter spoken. Saying the bible address with the book name, the word "chapter", a chapter number, then the word "verse" and finally the verse number the app will lookup, print on the screen and recite the verse to you. A right and left arrow will go to the next or previous verse. Swiping left will slow speech down and swiping right will speed it up. Saying just the book name, the word "Chapter" and a chapter number will type out and read an entire chapter. The right and left arrows will move to the next or previous chapter. Words are highlighted in red as they are spoken. The Daily Verse button may be pressed repeatedly for multiple verses. A repeat button will say the verse again. You can now share your favorite verse on Facebook, Twitter, or email. Just select the share button in the upper right hand menu bar. The Daily Verse button in the middle of the lower menu bar will play a key verse of the day. You can repeat this verse, use the next and previous buttons to hear the verses around it and the share button to post it to your favorite social media site.

  • Very cool app

This is a really cool app, and I think it could help a lot of people. I do wish there were more Bible versions on the app, though. For instance, I read the message Bible version, because nothing gets lost in the words. It would be nice if that version was included.
  • Spoken Verse

Spoken Verse, latest available. Can you provide instructions to command a book like 1 Kings, 1 Samual, etc. It is not clear to me how to request books like that.

    Developer Response

Spoken Verse is not designed to read an entire book at a time. However it can read a chapter at a time by just speaking the book and chapter. You can read an entire book but currently only a chapter at a time. Sorry for any misunderstanding. There is a pause and resume button if the chapter is long (ie, Psalm 119). Some books are very long and difficult to read at one sitting (ie, Psalms). What is the best solution?
  • Amazing app!

This is such an amazing app for reading bible verses, either by verse or by chapter. Plus with it being totally accessible, it’s very easy. Congratulations on making this amazing app for looking up bible verses using your voice and navigational buttons which are clearly labeled with VoiceOver totally accessible. One issue I’ve discovered is voiceover is rooted to the internal speaker rather then the earphone.I think it’s a bugg. Could you look into resolving it in next or future update? Overall, excellent app.

    Developer Response

Thank you so much for your excellent review. If headphones are plugged in, the app appears to work fine. If they are unplugged the app reverts to the small speaker (used for the phone). You must reboot the app, completely shutdown and restart afresh. Then the big speaker works again. Not sure why? Is this the problem you are referring to? Thank you again. I have added a pause and resume button to the new update. Any other comments to make app more usable? Thanks.
