When I first started playing this game, I was addicted. I even spent my hard earned money. I liked what I got for the minimal investment. Now, I really don’t think it’s all that great. They keep adding more and more items, which you can’t get without tokens. They only give you a minimal amount of tokens, when they do give them to you, like 2 to 5, the rest you have to buy. When you buy them you get very few for the money. Example, it costs $4.99 for 300 tokens, seems like a lot, but every thing you get with tokens is 120 to 300 tokens. At the most, I can get 2 items, yet if you spend $4.99 on the season pass, you get like 30 levels, tons of money, 5 of every item they give you, etc. Why so stingy and expensive for tokens?? There are too many items you can purchase, scrolling and scrolling just to find something you can purchase without tokens, that only cost the cash you earn through submitting your designs. I happened to like it better when it was much simpler. Items were more attainable, and stop bombarding me with all these specials. My goodness, I have to click the X 5 times before I can even start playing, and the free tokens are all the way down at the bottom of the page, more scrolling. As usual, improvement isn’t really an improvement, it’s more complicated, more expensive, and provides less satisfaction.

  • Addicting game, but rigged

I love this interior design app, also very addicting. I’ve been playing this game since the end of summer ‘22 and the app has gone through some good and bad changes. The newest update to the app is definitely rigged. I had some thoughts it was before, but now I am confident it is. For example, every so often the app has challenges like win 6 duel challenges and receive X amount of coins. I had submitted 6, but was losing one of them- they were all still in voting status. So I decided to try to one more to see if I could win the 6th. Sure enough, as soon as I submitted the 7th duel, the app gave me my X amount before voting ended. That’s one example. It is beyond me, some of the ugliest designs win. Also, with the new update, the app makes it easier to climb the ladder on the design status. Before, when it was having to only 1st place in one design level, I would ALWAYS win 2nd. Now that you can level up by winning 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, I always in 4th place-given some of the ugliest win. One more example is the duel challenge again. I would be winning all the way up to about 30 mins to the end, and it flips suddenly where opponent is now winning by a big difference- opponent 80%, me 20%. Again, this person would have some of the most bizarre designs with pink walls, blue wood items, green baseboards, and yellow upholstery- I mean how is that design getting 80?! The game has more obvious rigging with each update.

This game used to be pretty fun. It isn’t anymore. I stopped playing for awhile because of life getting busy, and when it started to chill again I thought about this game again, and just started playing again. It isn’t the same, and it’s way worse. The daily rewards and rewards for getting top 3 on designs give you way less than they used to, but somehow everything now costs more than it used to. You have to submit SO MANY designs to get to Ann desirable “status” (which is a whole mess on it’s own, half the materials I used to be able to use no problem are now locked behind a wall of progress, which would be fine if it was actually possible to get there without spending actual money due to the lack of in game resources you get), and then the “status” system is ridiculously bugged so when you get to the status you want to be at, chances are you haven’t actually unlocked the material you were supposed to unlock and the customer service is basically nonexistent so you’ll never get any help trying to correct these bugs. The cherry on top of this absolute mess of a game is the staggering lack of new content, there is just none of it. I’ve played this game on and off since 2020, and every single design template they have is recycled. There’s nothing new, and to even continue to design the exact same rooms I used to design for maybe a quarter of what I used to get out of it, I have to spend money now. RIP this game.

  • Used to be my favorite app to play

I’ve been playing redecor for over a year or two now, and a lot of the changes have been incredibly frustrating to adjust to. Not to mention, a few of my season passes items that I had previously purchased have disappeared and no longer show up as options to use during the updates. I am not a fan of the designer status, and how it locks away materials that I could previously use and have previously paid for, and keeping up your designer status requires you to spend your own money for more coins to maintain the status because you need a certain number of ones which are impossible to maintain and continue without real money. I find that really discouraging especially since some of my most used materials I can no longer use. I love some of the changes, some of the newer materials and the season pass alone was worth purchasing but not when the previous ones i’ve purchased have disappeared from my selection. Overall, I do love this game but i miss how it used to play. I also don’t use the Relight feature whatsoever (just more gold you have to earn and more things to unlock) and it’s gotten so excessive that it feels like im HAVE to pay to win, and even then you aren’t guaranteed enough wins to keep your designer status no matter how good your design is. I’ve spent a lot of money on this and to not be able to use the materials and things i’ve purchased, makes me want to delete the game sometimes.

  • It used to be great, now it’s just okay

The game was undeniably better before the new developers took over. Why they felt the need to make changes to a game that was very enjoyable to play, making it about money, if you don’t spend money it’s now very limited. Then they changed it again, trying to fool people into thinking they were getting more, but were actually getting even less than after their initial changes. They continue to use stale content so I quit buying their season passes because I was paying to play, over and over, the same content I already paid to play. It’s a good game but it’s not as fun as it used to be when I could play for hours. Many players have expressed their dissatisfaction with the changes but it has been ignored. Customer Support is virtually nonexistent in my experience. They boast of these content creators and graphics artists but there’s rarely any new content and when there is, it’s of poor quality…like I can Photoshop better. However, if you’ve never played the old developers version, you probably won’t be disappointed but will still possibly get discouraged if you aren’t willing to spend real money. Since they’ve taken away the ability to earn points by voting, when you run low it’s either pay or halt play until you’re able to vote again. That’s what upsets me the most and the reason I only gave 3 stars. Prior to the buyout I would have given 5 stars.

  • Best decorating game ever!:)

Love this & really enjoy it in my downtime. I love all the updates and the designer statuses really make it more fun as you’re trying to make it to the next level or secure the level you’re at before the game resets and you’re knocked back down to the level prior. The only reason I give this 4 stars instead of 5 is the changes that were made to the voting. Before you were rewarded coins no matter how many times you voted even if after a certain number you were rewarded less, you were still rewarded coins and so you were able to continue redesigning even if it took you a little longer to earn the amount of coins you may need for specific items and requirements. Now you can only earn after so many votes then when you have reached the limit you can still vote but you are unable to earn anything at all which can bring a game to a halt (which may be for the best for some so you’re not spending too much time on your device), however even if it’s only a small percentage it would be great if you could bring that back… being able to continue to earn. Other than that no complaints here! I never write reviews btw which says a lot about how much I love this game. Love the designs are so realistic looking instead of other design games that look cartoonish. I could go on about all the fun stuff I love about Redecor but this is now cutting into my game time and my “free time” is almost up🙃

  • Not too happy

As much as I enjoy this game, it's an annoyance to have items available for use in one season or even in some challenges, then they are locked in the next season or challenge and now you have to use star coins to open up an item that was already available to you. It takes away from one's creativity when they know they had items available to them but then they are not. It also makes no sense to be on level 9 and items with level 7 next to it are locked to you. What's the sense of leveling up and you are locked out of items for use from lower levels. I understand, to some degree, being locked out of items that are at a higher level. I say to some degree because prior to a recent change in the coin and leveling up process, a lot of items that I physical paid REAL money for, was no longer available for my use. I took that loss but I'm leveling up to have MORE items available to me for use, not to be locked out of items and having to use tokens to use any item from the level I'm on or any lower level that I worked hard on challenges to win and move up. You should rewarding your users NOT punishing them for moving up, paying money for the season passes and star coin purchases. There should also be other ways to be rewarded star coins, items cost so much to unlock more items for use.

  • Good quality design game, but WAY too expensive!

I found this game immediately addictive, interesting, creative… and incredibly expensive. The premise is good, great even, it’s just what I’ve been looking for in a creative, constructive game. (Meaning, not about shooting and killing things…) But they lead you in and make the first several rooms easy to design, with plenty of materials to choose from, but then you start having to pay to unlock materials… and after you pay to unlock materials you have to pay again to use them! It’s this part of the game I find particularly difficult. If I’m designing for a real client on the ground I get to go to stores and choose whatever I want to use. There’s gonna be a price to those materials but I only pay once. In this game it feels like I’m paying two or three times over for the best materials.

Beyond that, though the quality of the templates and the materials is exceptional, the design standards are high, most of the time, and I’ve been able to continue continue to be interested and engaged in the game even after more than a year of playing it… also, they simplified the purchasing tokens, since I first started playing the game, and they made it a little bit more affordable, which is a welcome change - on both accounts!

  • Best interior design game, even better after the update

I’ve already written a review for this game before and I’ve been spending a lot less time with everything going on, but with the new update it’s made the game so much easier. It took forever to accumulate gold and most of the better materials required a lot of it. But with there being only one currency it has definitely made things easier and less stressful.

Here is one thing that still needs help: voting. I read a review saying that a player should be able to review all 10 designs in a set and rank them from best to worst because a lot of the time the voting system isn’t very fair, especially when you thought you would have ranked much higher than what your design ranked. It will also reduce the amount of people that spam vote just for the cash. There should be a set of 5 of these to reap a much bigger currency reward. It would make the spammer realize that it isn’t worth it to spam anymore because of how much longer it would take. If you were to rearrange 5 design sets, this would be 50 designs in total and should fetch 10,000 coins imo.

One other thing that needs to be fixed is the Star tokens. It takes WAY too long to accumulate star tokens and then when you’re ready to FINALLY unlock stuff, it’s ONLY 3 items! It should be lowered to 50 star tokens to 100 star tokens for the most elite materials.

Thank you for your amazing 5-star review! We're thrilled to hear that you're enjoying the new update and finding the game easier and less stressful with the single currency system. Regarding the voting system, we appreciate your suggestion for being able to review and rank all 10 designs in a set. We understand the importance of fairness, and we'll definitely take your feedback into consideration for future improvements. As for the Star tokens, we understand that it takes time to accumulate them, and we apologize if it feels like a long process. We appreciate your feedback on the token requirements for unlocking items, and we'll review it to ensure a more rewarding experience. Thank you again for your support and valuable feedback. Enjoy your redecorating journey!
  • Great but some problems 😝🤪🍱🎨

This app is so fun I love to design. But this game needs to let you not have to buy every single thing. But this game is so great literally it has no ads. But what I don’t like is that it doesn’t give you enough star coins so you can’t get stuff what I want is just maybe like the money could actually like pay for designs but not real money. Because I have a lot of that from the game but there’s no way that you can like earn the coins it’s hard like if you don’t have stuff in the game then you can’t play at all because it won’t let you submit it without doing all of the dots. What I wish is if you could just make the game with more coins and an easier way to earn coins without doing it if you can’t because you can’t do any of the stars or squares because now I can’t play and if there is a way to earn coins that’s not playing a level then can the developer tell me what it is I just got this game on Monday so maybe there is a way and I just don’t know. So I’d recommend downloading this game if you use your coins wisely don’t just buy a bunch of random stuff and not use them all but I would also like is if they made this game like she bought this she doesn’t want it we can let her unbuy it and give her more coins. So overall this game is good I recommend getting it if you use your coins wisely. If you like designing this is a good game. Even though I never win the voting stuff. Overall this game is good.
