I wish there was a system set up where I can rate the games that I own in the app. Just so I can have a visual right there when I’m looking back through my games of what I liked the most about them and what I didn’t like about them. The collection keeps expanding, so it’s nice to have the words down of how I feel about certain games. Also if my friends look through my profile, they see how I feel about the games I own.Show lessTgg239
Privacy policy issue
The app looks very well laid out. It has a spacious and modern UI feel that is in stark contrast to many of the other BGG apps available.
But to take advantage of what limited functionality they have around My Account, I need to pass a sign up page. It was not clear whether the sign up was for this standalone app, or my BGG credentials, so I decided to check into it by reading the privacy policy that they say you agree to iby creating an account.
That link goes to a website with no privacy policy at all. Indeed it’s basically just a marketing page, with a newsletter sign up and marketing onagery as per the app store listing.
Unfortunately that created enough hesitation that I have not moved forward with using the app. 2 stars is for the hope it grows into what its early promise suggests.Show lessJuzzyP
Exactly what you imagine
-Easily add all games you own and wishlist any you want
-Each game has reviews, gameplay and review videos, and any related content like expansions easily viewable and accesible under the game
-Good visuals for games
-Rating for games is excellent
-The only “issue”, which isn’t a huge deal, is that the only purchase link for games is amazon. And Im personally not a huge fan of amazon for a variety of reasons. I can easily copy and paste and do my own search for where to buy.Show lessSad clash player
Alllllllmost everything I want
Love the app. Looks good. Runs smooth. Simple to navigate. Amazing sorting function. BUT I want to keep track of how I rate games. I see them based off of a community rating, but after I play a game, I want to be able to rate it as well. I don’t even care if my rating is shared with anyone. Really like it despite some flaws
Visually, I think this is by far the best board game app out there. The dev cut out a lot of the fluff that other apps have while making it easy to see the lists in an uncluttered way that is visually appealing. That being said, there’s a lot that seems to be missing like play data and stats, forums, reviews, things of that nature. So while it’s nice to look at, the app experience doesn’t feel very social which runs contradictory to why most people play board games in the first place. Also, there’s a bug when looking at the filtered lists by publisher and designer that after a couple seconds, the list will just switch to the top ranked listing. So as others are saying, it’s a great start and I really hope the dev keeps improving the app. I’d actually pay for this if it improves. I also suggest that a dark mode be added in the future.
