Imbalanced system, pay to play, less fun the more levels you go up

I loved this game when I first started out, hence the three star review. But now that I’m starting to get higher team levels etc I’m noticing a lot more issues with the game itself. I’ve definitely had to put money into the game in order to get anywhere fast and I noticed that if you don’t spend money on it you will start to lose more. The pairing system is definitely rigged. I’ve raced against people who have nearly a 200 point difference both higher than me and lower and got completely destroyed. Instead of making more even pairings they put you against someone who’s vastly lower or vastly higher than you. And for every few wins you get they make sure to make you lose more. It definitely drains coins and raises frustration when you play. On top of that in order to upgrade your gear or drivers it costs an astronomical amount of coins. You’d literally have to spend over $100 worth of real money to upgrade a piece of gear. I’d love to see better pairings and a single player mode where you can earn coins to help pay for leveling up as well as lowering the prices of upgrading gear and drivers. However the concept is amazing and I’d love to see better results soon

Pay to win/ unbalanced/ poor leveling system/ ad heavy

So the concept of this game is flawless when you start playing, a card based game with strategies to win so you believe it would be be a level playing field. As you can tell that’s not the case. You can’t level up quickly because you need cash which you have to buy to open crates or wait 2/12 hours depending on each level of crate. When you start playing your roped in with a lovely long stream of back to back to back wins against very easy opponents at low levels. Then once you start to upgrade it becomes very clear that unless your piling money into the game your not going to make any progress. Your lose more games that are very much handy capped. Your team level could be upwards of 30 points below your opponent and your going to get rinsed every time. No matter the strategy. But the moment you put even just a pound in to the game you can expect a massive boost in performance. You’ll be unstoppable without upgrading anything. It’s a blatant pay to win scheme which put a real dampener on a game that has amazing potential. Do not bother to down load you’ll just end up stressed out and wasting time to complete with everyone else who has pumped money into the game

Avoid

Use to be fun. Typical pay to play, but really turned up the greed this season. You will never be able to afford to upgrade your car. If you do spend money and upgrade, you will still lose to a bot or player 100 points below you. You can actually see your car come almost to a complete stop to let the others by. Last season, wasn’t too bad, it was actually fun. I have a few boosts I can use up and then I am deleting the game.

matchmaking

terrible match making. i have a team score of 437 and i get match with an AI with 550 team score over and over again in SERIES 4.

lost all the money now and i can not even upgrade drivers and car parts past level 4 because its too expensive and i get that terrible matchmaking.

i dont mind losing to players with a little higher team score than me, but over 100 TC is insane.

game is fun but its frustrating not being able to advance properly.

This is an awful team management game

I dont even know where to start, from the atrocious ai who instead of overtaking they just rear end the driver in front and then slow down to let 15 other people overtake to the limited liveries that you can barely even customize. Servicing a car is the dumbest idea to ever make its way into a game at all. Average pit stops should not be 7 seconds long. Why cant we just have an f1 game where we create a team with sponsors and good liveries and compete against the real f1 teams in a f1 season? Instead we get another copy and paste racing game where the only car control you get is engine power. At least let us tell our drivers to either push or manage tires. And then a 5 minute race gives you a crate that takes 8 hours to open! And you can only open one at a time! In what world does that even make sense? And the crates just give awful rewards too. And to even start a race you need to put a down payment of at least $1000. Lost all the money because the game cant balance opponents? Now you need to wait 12 hours for your crate to unlock. Its like the game just doesnt even want you to play.

The championships are ok but they put a million regulations so in order to be competitive you have to make a whole new deck and upgrade all your bad cards

All in all just dont waste your time on this trainwreck of a game

Lacks consistency

Overall the game play and concept is all good. Graphics are good but it lacks consistency when it comes to performance. Lacks consistency on matching up players with similar skill. Most of the time in my experience I get matched up vs people with way higher grades than me so makes it almost impossible to win. Maybe the matching system needs to be tweaked. I lowered my rating to 1 star. It’s a joke how inconsistent it is. I wrote my review and then decided to give the game another chance but more of the same stupidity of matchup and in race issues. I am on boost and take a turn and get passed by 3 cars lol. Doesn’t seem like the drivers ratings do anything when it comes to racing. My highest “consistency” drivers seem to have the least consistent race, taking turns way wide or letting 3 people pass me because I slowed down and took the outside of a turn. Seems like the driver did that just to let 3 cars behind me pass. Also when a car breaks down why not have the car get affected and slow down so it forces people to go into pits. You can literally drive laps of a broken car with no effect. Last thing is this game really does want you to purchase packs and things and you can only be competitive if you do. If you don’t you will be stuck with lower parts and drivers as the upgrades on parts and cars are ridiculously high. So if you want to play this game competitively be ready to spend money. The free daily spin rewards not worth spinning

Honest opinion

So I’ll start by just saying this. The game is decent. That’s it. A brand new season has happened and the developers decided to change a lot of things. The developers took away engine wear during races and only having to worry about tires now and that’s it and it has made the races blain. Why take away something that actually happens in real life and forced people to come up with good strategies. I honestly think it’s because people just sucked at it and their bending to the people who are bad and not caring for people who are actually good and try in this game. Another thing to add. A level 3 common part cost over 100k to upgrade. A common part! Everything is so expensive in the game to the point where I can’t even race anymore because I run out of money. I can’t afford any upgrades because everything past level 2 cost over 100k. It’s absolutely ridiculous. The game just Dosent feel good now. Things are way to much expensive. In game purchases are even more expensive. I can see the road the developers are going down and their gonna take the game down with them. Please fix the game developers. Racing, pricing, everything in general. Thank you.

Really fun game but has some major issues

This game is really enjoyable to play and I am excited for the new season released. My biggest complaint THE BOOSTS! These really need to be removed at this point as I’ve seen other comments saying purchasing crates is what makes the game pay to win. I disagree with this as the developers have improved matchmaking (at least as much as I’ve played so far this season) and it feels more fair. What’s not fair is when you have players spending all their money on boosts and completely dominate you every race because boosts are not taken into account for matchmaking. I never enjoy using the boosts I’ve gotten for free anyways as I hate it being used against me so much that it just doesn’t seem fair to other players. Also in what world do “boosts” actually exist or benefit F1 drivers in real life. I understand it’s a video game and all but it’s just stupid. It totally messes up the game and takes out any sort of competition as they are just too powerful. As I mentioned before this game is really fun but only when the races are competitive. When I finish the race P14 and P16 while making good stops and racing decisions there is no way my opponent should be P3 and P6. Just get rid of them developers please it would make your game so much more competitive and enjoyable.

Boosts can be equipped before the start of a race, these will provide a stat boost to particular Driver and/or Car Component stats. If your equipped Drivers or Components might be lacking in certain stats, equipping a Boost that includes those stats may help with your Drivers/Cars performance. With the 2024 Season we also introduced track stats, where certain stats are assigned to tracks in each Duel Series and Grand Prix Events that will give you additional performance in these areas. You could utilise your Boosts around each tracks stats instead! Boosts will give you additional performance, but stats alone aren't the only factor which will lead to a race win. Other elements such as yours and your rivals overall race strategies like Pit Stop and Tyre management will play a significant role. Boosts can be claimed for free by watching advertisements, you can also gain different Boosts each week by making it through to the Final Round in Grand Prix Events. Boosts may also be featured in Pit Pass Exhibitions, or the core six Boosts can be purchased in the Store. Nevertheless, thank you for your feedback on Boosts and their current performance, we appreciate you letting us know your thoughts!

Game has gotten worse

The game dynamics have gotten undeniably worse since the new update. Unsure how you can update a game and make it so much worse. For example, if a player runs out of tyres all cars behind will pile up behind without passing. Frustrating when this is supposedly a strategy game where the focus is on ensuring you have the right tyres but can’t even pass on a straight with plenty of life left on a soft and then person in front has nothing left on a hard. Seems the focus is on pay to play even more so than in the past. If you pay enough to be at the front, strategy goes out the window

Thanks for your review! The pit stop time will depend on your stats and if your car needs to be repaired or serviced :) We understand how annoying the situation is with regard to disconnection during a race, more so if it is in an important event like the GP. PAY TO WIN. 0 Stars!!

This is the MOST clearly pay to win game I’ve ever played. There is literally 0 skill involved and the level of your car and drivers are the only things that matter. No matter how much you upgrade your stuff, you will always get matched up with someone better than you. They just want you to boost your drivers so you have to keep spending money on stuff that doesn’t actually make you better. Even if you drop down to the starter leagues just to try and get a win and a little bit of money, you’ll still get matched with someone who has a way better team than you. It’s actually a joke. I started playing a week ago and my upgrades already cost over 100k gold a piece and if I race in the top league I can I’ll win 15k gold maybe 5% of the time. And whenever you lose you actually lose the amount of money you’re trying to win. Just another clever way to make you spend money just to keep getting beat by better teams. I would get a new driver and my team score will go up 100 points but then my competition also goes up 100 points so there is really no point to even getting better. You’ll win more with crappy drivers driving slow cars and hope you get matched with someone who doesn’t know how to play. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!! Worst devs on the App Store.

Hello, thanks for your detailed feedback of our game. We would like to first say that we're sorry to hear of you’re not enjoying it currently, we understand we have a lot to improve on and your feedback helps us greatly improve the quality of our game. For the game being "pay to win", while this game does contain in game purchases, you are not obligated to make a single purchase to enjoy F1 Clash. Of course you can obtain resources by making in app purchases but you can also obtain them from various free sources too such as crates from race wins, event rewards, the free Pit Pass track, Sprint Races Event and ads which is optional to watch. F1 Clash will require some time to gather all the resources and progress, but it's not impossible! As for Matchmaking, as you progress through the series and you upgrade your setup, your Team Score will increase too. This is used during the Matchmaking to find you a rival with similar TS, leading to a gradual increase in difficulty. If you are struggling to win, we recommend you to try racing in lower series to gather more coins and assets, as well as adjust your strategy. You can also check out our Discord server, a lot of the community share what works for them there! https://discordapp.com/invite/haHAen5 - Hutch
