  • Really fun puzzle game.

This game is fantastic. It feels like a mix between Threes! and a real time strategy game. Worth every penny. So I originally wrote this stating that I wanted my progress to carry over from game to game. After playing more and getting to the end I’ve changed my mind. The difficulty is so well balanced. It seemed impossible to beat at first. However you get so much better the more you play, that it’s actually quite achievable to win. Genius game.

  • Threes + 868 Hack

Another amazing game by Kenny Sun. 10/10!
  • Threes! + Imbroglio

Kenny Sun did it! He combined two of the best puzzle games into a unique and wonderful experience. I also appreciate that he acknowledges the influence of the games in the credits. Keep it up Kenny ✨🤙
  • Kind of Lame

I was hoping for a challenging puzzle game, but this is mostly luck and doesn’t have solutions per se. The game gets old fast, and should be free.
  • It’s just 2048

This is a more difficult version of 2048 but it isn’t that fun
  • Hardcore roguelike puzzle

I want to start off by saying I didn’t love Yankai’s Traingle, though I understand why people did. While the mechanics were very clever and it must have taken some genius coding to randomize puzzles with a solution to every one, the annoying noises and horrible flashing graphics and lack of music were too unappealing to keep going after a hundred levels or so. Circa infinity used this hazy, flat design too.

So I’m happy that Twinfold uses far more modern, organic graphics. It’s minimalistic, it’s clean, and while there’s still no music (though Kenny or whoever makes the trailer music is amazing), the sound effects are fun and satisfying. Plus, the game keeps Kenny’s signature infinite-replayability and original-and-brilliant design. It basically chopped off the things I didn’t like from his previous games and replaced them with things I do like.

Like Kenny’s other games, the difficulty ramps up fast. While combining is equally as satisfying as in Threes, it’s much, much harder to do. The added undo button came as a surprise — usually his games are far more unforgiving. Clearly, this game is made for wider audiences and it shows by having an actual difficulty curve (as opposed to the wildly swinging difficulty of Yankai’s Triangle) and better graphics, in addition to the power ups in game. The haptics are extremely satisfying and there’s even a battery-save mode, though based on my screen time, there’s still a 2% battery drain per minute of gameplay.

As for updates, this developer tends to not give any beyond bug fixes and simple difficulty adjustments. It’s fine because his games work even on the new iOS, though I imagine the screen size might be smaller for future phones. He will (likely) not add more power ups, nor a way to permanently progress. Regardless, like threes, this game can last months for the right people. If you like puzzles with a twist or want Threes with a flair, this is definitely the game for you.

  • i might lose my job

because I can’t stop playing this game
  • Clever and Compelling

    puzzle roguelike game greatness.
  • No Instructions

I love threes so I thought I would give this a go. After some flippant instructions your left to try and figure it out the game moves and strategy.

When you don’t know how to play, you think you’ll figure it out as you go, but the game play is fast.

I did google how to play and there are some tips, but I still can’t make it past level 1.

Graphically it’s not pleasing so I’m not persevering. Just another app I’ll delete.

  • Awesome, room for some non gameplay related improvement

I love it! Very interesting spin on 2048 and broughlikes. Only thing I could ask for is some form of permanent markers of progression like an exp meter that fills up at the end of the game, unlocking new themes or something if the like. Otherwise fantastic game!
