The radius near the workplace can be configured. - To use the goTimr web just go to https://gotimr.com, scan the QR code with the scanner from the goTimr app and use the more convenient web interface Clarification on details -> Is employer somehow involved in the functionality of this app ? This is about people tracking their own working times for their own purposes and the employer is not involved in the process in any way. The collected data is not shared in any form with third party applications or service providers. -> Why there is a need for self working time tracking ? There are companies that don’t have or introduce needed time tracking systems for employees. But they count on employees’ self-time logging. This is a trust based relationship in between employees and companies. Therefore, the sole purpose of the app is personal productivity. The usage of the application might be beneficial for freelancers as well if they want to track their work-time based on different locations they work. -> Why exactly you need location-based time tracking? For only one purpose, to minimize the number of manual steps for logging in and out the time. The application allows manual time tracking which is enabled by default. 1. User launches the app, and presses the button which persists the start of working time 2. And does the same, when user wants to stop the working time. In order to avoid manual steps described above there is also an option to track working time based on the location specified by the user: 1. User enables the location-based logging and specifies the location on his/her workplace and the radius of the area entering into which time logging will automatically start without the need of the user to open the app and press any button. 2. In a similar fashion when the user goes out of the specified area, the working time logging automatically stops, again without the need for user to open the app and preform any manual actions. Instructions to enable location based tracking - Switch the location services on - Give location access to the “gotimr” app - Open the “gotimr” app and switch the “location-based tracking” on and define the radius IMPORTANT All the data of logged working hours is saved on the user's mobile phone only! During the active web session the data will be temporarily copied to the database and completely removed from the database after the web session logs out.

  • Great app

You can use it to see how many hours active you are. And use it for time management. You can also turn off location services and no need to keep the app open.
Whenever you open show time spend. The fact that you can stop and start any time is a great idea. Also you can see table for each day how active you been keeping or use it as how long spending to each task.

A great idea which I need. However the app has to be open for location feature to work. If I have to open the app to start why would I need location feature. Kind of defeats the purpose.
  • Interesting

I like the idea of this but I cannot figure out how to access/print the information on how many total hours you working in a day.
