Don’t purchase anything through this app
I am extremely disappointed I was very excited when I saw that Assimil had an app where I could purchase their books in digital form, but unfortunately that’s where the good news ends. After purchasing my item the site simply timed-out and the book would not download. After many attempts I contacted Assimil by text but because of the time difference has been long and drawn out. Save yourself the aggravation and just buy the physical books. It’s a shame its a good idea but the execution is a disaster.

Problème.
Bien faite mais ne fonctionne par sur mon IPad. Seule le page d’ouverture apparaît mais pas le moindre texte.
NO SUPPORT! Not working on IPad.
This is an expensive purchase to not have any support. I purchased on my iPhone. It won’t work at all on my IPad. Try to email through help on the app and that also isn’t working. This company needs to respond to help or not be sold on the App Store!

Great Use. Only problem is sometimes very slow loading time.
This app is great, all contents packed well. Only problem is when I try to use daily, sometimes I can’t open to use it for the whole day. I give up after a couple attempts of 2-10 mins
App doesn’t work
For the first 2-3 weeks I was able to login to the app and complete lessons. As of recently all I get is the loading circle and it never actually loads which slows down my learning ability.
No Japanese for English speakers to learn
I disliked this as the only Japanese you can get is in French which you need to learn first if you’re not French like me as a English speaker
Would be good it were reliable
I’m a huge fan of Assimil for starting a new language. For clarity: Assimil publishes these courses in books and recordings; Mantano delivers that same content via this and the related apps. This app is a straight transcription of the book and recordings. The convenience and simplicity of doing it through the app would make it marginally better than the book+recordings format.
However, it only works maybe a third of the time the time. Most mornings, I get up, open the app, and watch the pinwheel-of-death spin for five minutes or so. Then I give up and get out the book and play the recordings from my phone while reading along. (Which is essentially all the app does.) This is really frustrating since the Assimil approach works best if you do one lesson per day religiously.
Bottom line: I feel like I paid for the course in Spanish twice - once through Mantano and once through a reputable online bookseller. I regret wasting the money at Mantano. However, if you really want to teach yourself a language, I can’t praise Assimil enough.

The app stopped working on iPad with iOS 12.1.4
When opened, it displays the background nad loading spinner forever....
Full version doesn’t work
I started the first 7 lessons for free and I liked it and decided to buy the full version. The full version could not be installed and I cannot make it work. The support in App Store doesn’t seem to work.
