Good App that does the thing and supports older hardware!
This app provides the basics of what you need for teleprompt and remote functions and does it well. $4.99 gets you the remote and removes ads - exactly what I needed, AND - it worked with my iPad Gen 4, which almost no telepromt apps remain that work on iOS 10.
When I wasn’t able to get my purchase of the remote to work, I emailed the support email from the app. Developer responded promptly, fixed an issue with my purchase stuck as pending on the App Store, and I am back in business with a teleprompter app and remote with iPad/iPhone combo and the exact functions I need and not a bunch of fluff.
I bet this is the best teleprompter app deal with remote function on the App Store, supporting older devices, and it just works. NICE! Thank you. :)Tainbrain

This app makes it possible to scroll through my chords and lyrics while playing the guitar. It totally eliminates the need for the bulky, awkward sheets in a song book.
Font size and scrolling speeds are fully adjustable, and it’s fun and easy to use.

Description of NetRoadshow Teleprompter
NetRoadshow Teleprompter with remote control allows you to turn your iPhone or iPad into a customizable teleprompter. Type or paste your script directly into the text editor, or simply import a pdf file using the import tool. Once you have your script complete, a control panel will allow you to adjust the text size, line spacing, scroll speed, orientation, display colors, and other modes. Users can then save default settings to be used every time you open the app. Once the teleprompter starts scrolling, on-screen hand gestures will allow you to adjust the speed and text size. Users now have the ability to save scripts, and login to multiple devices, unlocking a remote control functionality. Best used with iPad teleprompter rig. There is now a customer support feature in the profile page.
