Reviews of solAR

Great idea, app crashes

On Vision 1.0.3, demo app worked great, but after full purchase app keeps crashing. At first, selecting full solar system would revert back to the “earth/moon” page (but not the normal AR view, but a web page type view). Now it won’t load at all. It’s a really great idea for an app and I can see its potential, but as is, it’s not quite ready and I’m torn with asking for a refund. Deleted and reinstalled app multiple times and still not loading. Not sure if the app downloads and store all info locally or if it’s calling home to a server that prevents it from loading, but going back over to the demo app doesn’t have the same issue.

Not all views working as yet

Needs more work, not good to pay for less than 100% complete functionality 😔

Response from developer

Thank you for your very helpful feedback. With our latest release we optimized the memory usage, therefore larger solar systems shouldn’t crash anymore. Don’t hesitate to get back to us in case the issue persists. Thanks again, it’s very valuable to us in this early stage of Apple Vision Pro.

Good, fun

This is good and fun. Needs a small help file and some better mouse support on Mac for zoom, etc. There is a small pair of buttons on the top right for zoom in and out but are very hard to see.

Running on an iMac, I can NOT turn off the labels and orbit paths.
