Does the job
It does what many other smart scene apps do and it only does it with BG products.
But it does it reliably, simply and remembers the Wi-Fi details for you as well as linking easily to Alexa.
So it comes down to a simple question, are the BG smart products worth getting and having a dedicated app that needs downloading?
Now for me their smart sockets are good quality, have proved to be reliable and retrofit easily into every socket I’ve replaced. The plugs and extension cords are also sturdy and have worked well and reliably. So for me, yes, and the app making their installation so easy deserves 5 stars.
Now I’ve only done plugs, extension leads and sockets, so I can’t comment on lights, but I doubt it would suddenly go wrong there so I will keep using and keep buying BG sockets.

It’s not all bad
Sockets and adapters disconnect themselves for no apparent reason, then sit there flashing red. Adaptors can be unplugged and generally reset an rejoin the WiFi.
Sockets don’t seem to have a reboot option (unless you can switch the mains off and on, which might include the WiFi router, so is a little self defeating) so it’s a hard reset and reconfiguration. Perhaps the programming wizards could build in a reboot function for hardwired items.
Daylight saving…didn’t seem to work, yesterday timers had simply advanced an hour, as they have done twice a year since the system was launched.
Otherwise it’s all really good!

Hard to set up, good when working
I needed to replace my double socket in the kitchen & had a job to. At first it wouldnt fit in the wall plate. The instructions are not 10o% clear so I had to do some guessing when connecting to the wifi. Its only 2ghz whatsit on routers not 5. You need to keep the buttons in constantly so they flash fast ( led light around the on/of switch) you need a live wire connection to. After stressing myself out the double plug socket works fine but left side is loser with a miner gap on the wall. Works fine now.
