Description of CrewTimer Regatta Timing

Crew Timer is an app and companion website used to facilitate event timing and scrimmage timing for regatta style racing such as crew, kayak, canoe, or track and field. It can be used for 1000+ entry events as well as standalone use as a scrimmage or seat race timer. When used standalone the user simply presses buttons to start each entry being timed and then subsequently presses a finish button for each entry as they finish. A summary screen is provided to show the 'results'. For a regatta or sprint style, the start and stop timing can be separate tablets or phones located at the start and finish with the results shown real time on www.crewtimer.com. Penalties and corrections are allowed. Configuration is done via a simple spreadsheet import of the race entries. For more information on using CrewTimer for a regatta, visit www.crewtimer.com and select the About menu item. • Help

Hi. I like the app. I have a problem using it. Can anyone help?

When I go to regatta > race entry choices, there are preset names and I’d like to edit them. However the cursor starts flickering and the names won’t delete. It’s not editable.

    Developer Response

Hi, please try the latest version of the app - 5.7.9 or later. The cursor flickering and editing has been fixed.
  • Great for Coaching

I have been using Crew Timer for a few years now and it has made seat racing much easier and race days more fun.
When seat racing I put it in head race mode and with my new Crew Timer clicker, I am able to easily take time differences from multiple boats. You can move back and forth from the results page to the main page anytime. If you forget to switch from start to finish or enter a false split, you can easily delete or modify it. If you need to make a setting or race lineup change, you will want to screenshot the results page because it won’t save results after making the change.
On race day at practice it makes everything seem more official. I have only used the mobile app, but my club has used the program for its regattas with great success.
