  • Great but too expensive

I love the extension but it is not worthy of a subscription or a one time $40 purchase. They'd make more money if they seriously lowered the cost. It is an extension that should be inbuilt in Safari.
  • Makes websites load painfully slow

Looks great but it makes websites load at least 10 times longer slower
  • It's good, until you use google docs.

This extension is really good when you use safari. All the websites are darken, with dark backgrounds, and white font. But the moment that you open google docs, the font goes from white to black and it's really hard to see what you are typing. I hope the developers can patch that up. Other than that, this is a pretty good extension.

  • Very Expensive for what it gives you

It also failed to show contents correctly when while color is used on png files like in some Wikipedia illustrations. also ohter websites displaying pdf wrongly especially pictures
  • 3 month trial over...$40 for full version?

WOW. Ok. Sorry but that is just ridiculous. Will be installing one of your competitors with a much smaller upfront price.
  • Pretty great!

I thought this would force a subsription but no you can paay for a premium version which I would recommend for it being abnormally cheap but yeah pretty great.
  • I UNinstalled Night Eye

    I uninstalled Night Eye because:
    1. parts of almost all Webpages I visited became illegible
    2. download speed was severely hindered. Gmail balked by suggesting I leave the page as it was too intense with graphics
I had ony used the free version.
  • Best Option for Safari but Expensive

Better method and results for creating a dark mode than Dark Mode for Safari. Roughly equivalent to Dark Reader for Safari but is still getting updates unlike Dark Reader. Only real complaint is price. I get that Mac OS is unique and that paying for 3rd party apps is often necessarry but $9 a year for this seems just slightly overpriced. $5 a year seems more fair for continual development of an app like this along with keeping the $40 permanent option.

Thank you for the review. We will think about your suggestion - there a few transactional taxes that eating away from the price.
  • We all want free things but...

You get what you pay for -- this app does its job, does it better and easier than 'work arounds' and has been a great help already in the hours I've had it.

Sure, similiar apps exist for different browsers and some of those are free. But, if you use safari and want a reliable night mode option then this app seems like the way to go. At the end of the day, the cost is very minimable for the benefit ... and many of us easily 'waste' much more money in a day on over-priced coffee which doesn't have near the utility and interaction time this extension does.

I haven't paid the yearly price yet for premium as there is a 3 month free period, but upon its expiration I plan on supporting the team that makes Night Eye.

    Cons: Has a price attached.

Pro: Has a seemingly good team behind it, works quite well, is much easier and more universal to implement than the various free 'work arounds' available, doens't require switching to a different browser (say what you will about safari, but I like it), and makes significant screen time use much nicer to interact with day or night.

  • Dark Mode for all Browsers

As a cross-platform cross-browser user, I rappreciate having one dark mode extension for all and don't mind paying for quality extensions.
