Version History of Just Timers

3.2.5

June 8, 2024

this *should* fix a long-standing issue with syncing between the watch and phone. if you still find you are having issues with sync, please reach out to me at support@justtimers.app to see if we can’t narrow things down more. other fixes in this version: - the "silence (vibrate only)" alert setting should work again (note: critical alerts seem to override this and always play the system sound) - the "stop playback" alert setting should work again (but keep in mind it only works if the app is in front. the screen can be locked, but the app must be front) --- previous version notes: What's new: - Run Actions - Now open URLs and Run Shortcuts for any timer action! Rather than just timer expiration, you can now open URLs and Run Shortcuts for actions like starting/stopping a timer, pausing, lapping a stopwatch, and next/previous interval. NOTE: Run Actions can only run automatically when the app is open. If running from the background using Shortcuts or similar, the app may need opened first. - New Alert Sounds - Ding - Gong 1 - Gong 2 - Filtering - Added an "Any/All" toggle to change the behavior of filter matching criteria. These also apply to Shortcuts, Widgets and x-callback-url filtering (use match=any or all) - Stopwatch - When using Stopwatch in focus view there is now a toggle above the time to switch between showing the current lap time and total time Fixed: - Intervals unexpectedly getting skipped - Bug where timer is full screen and bottom buttons don't change with play/pause state. - A bunch of bugs in the timer editor page should be fixed - Fixed a bug where "Repeat Alerts" being disabled would still cause alerts to repeat - Fixes to Run Actions not firing even with the app open - When creating a new timer in the Watch app, there is a new row of icons across the top to make it more clear there are multiple pages and which page is active - Fixed an issue with interval timers where the sound wouldn't play when the app is open - Fixed a UI issue with the intervals button - Fixed Shortcuts actions not working on Stopwatch

3.0.3 Changes: * added a much more full-featured tutorial * edit/command mode no longer displays little red delete circles, you can either swipe to delete or select and use the trash can icon. * widgets have been tweaked a bit; the small widget has just an action icon instead of button (since small widgets can only act as one big button), but the bigger widgets will no longer take action when tapped on the background, only the buttons themselves * tweaked font sizes, particularly on widgets and non-compact mode timers, to make the time more prominent * live activities should show the correct color tint again * when making a new timer, your previous values should now be used as defaults (duration, alarm settings etc) * added some Help buttons to Interval Templates * added "Append" text to Interval Template items to make the action more clear * fixed a bug where timers would sometimes go missing * fixed a bug where timer colors wouldn't persist * fixed some UI padding If you're encountering any issues/bugs with Just Timers, please reach out to me at support@justtimers.app or on Twitter @JustTimers 3.0.2 Changes: * fixes an issue where timers would disappear * fixed interval controls showing 2 stop buttons when expired * setting an interval duration to 0 will now act as a "count up" interval * added buttons to settings to restore timers and templates from v2 that didn't import correctly * the app should no longer crash on iOS 16.0 3.0.1 Changes: * The app should no longer crash when loading on macOS * Added Timer and Template restoration buttons to settings * Stopwatch lap values now show individual lap time instead of total on Apple Watch (tap on the big timer to swap between lap and total too) * Intervals should now should the correct interval number/total * Tapping on a Live Activity (instead of one of the buttons), when a timer is expired, will now stop the timer * overtime settings were not being respected, timers should now stop at 0 when overtime is disabled * stopwatch milliseconds are working again (a toggle will be coming in a future update) * font colors on timers tweaked a bit for contrast (specifically for intervals)

Reviews of Just Timers

No sound??

So glad I paid $5 for this useless app to NOT actually notify me of anything no matter what I do.

Response from developer

Hey sorry you’re having issues but it should produce sound. If you can reach out to support@justtimers.app I can try to get you squared away

Notifications just won’t stop

Paid for Tier 2. After a timer completed, the notifications would just not stop. They kept coming and coming, no matter what I did. I acknowledged the notification. Stopped the timer. Ultimately I just had to delete the app to get it to stop.

Too many problems

The app has the potential to solve multiple problems including the lack of iCloud syncing in the native timer app. The problem is that the app in its current state is underdeveloped. There are too many problems. For one thing the timer doesn’t sound if your device is on silent mode. This alone is a deal breaker for me. The settings are not straight forward and there’s a bit of a learning curve. There’s no way to set a default sound I’m finding myself changing the alarm sound each time I set a new timer. The iCloud sync feature did not reliably work for me in the couple of trials I had. I paid for tier 2 in the spirit of supporting the developer as they seem to be active and working on the app. I’m sure it will one day get there!
