  • Articheck is all I will ever know for conducting inspection reports.

Perhaps I’m ignorant of other modalities, or other interfaces or programs used to conduct condition reports. But to me, a humble American on the west coast, Articheck sets the standard, and it will be the only tool I will ever seek to use. Articheck Forever.. . .(unless something better comes along, then I’m adaptable😎)

  • Not recommended for conservators

Conclusion: It may work for quick reports, but my experience is that it doesn’t properly save long blocks of text. And, once you buy the very expensive yearly subscription, you are stuck with the entire amount if you don’t cancel within 2 weeks! Details: I spent $709.60 for 1 year or 300 reports. I started 14 drafts and, because of the holidays, by the time I completed the first report in January, my cancellation window was over. I wrote a detailed report and used the additional text boxes to document the positions of the “blemishes.” When I saved your report and exported to PDF, the formatting of the PDF was off, with boxes of texts not aligned, and the contents of the two long, detailed blocks of text had been reduced to two rows each, cut mid sentence. When I contacted technical support, they told me they couldn’t replicate the problem and asked me to re-enter the information. I told them I did not trust their system, since they had not been able to address the malfunctioning, and I wanted to cancel the subscription and get some credit. Well, it was past the 14 days cancellation window, and even though you can cancel the monthly subscription with 30 days notice, you are responsible for the entire year and the 300 reports, even if you only use 15 reports and a little over a month of the service. I would understand the inflexibility if it was an actual product that has been used, but it is a software, and my access can easily be revoked. Therefore, I find it unfair to have to pay the entire amount for a service that is not doing what is expected to do. And it is not the user fault, because my text was gone, but the formatting was also skewed. This system may work for a quick report, but I do not recommend it for conservators that care about writing detailed reports with measurements and additional explanations.

  • Crashes and doesn’t submit

Pretty much a big waste of time
  • Can be glitchy

When using this app out in the field with no internet connection, it can get into terrible loops of crashing and restarting with accompanying loss of data. Can be very frustrating, with no apparent way to rectify the issue. Worrying, after spending a long time compiling a report.
  • Great ideas but it crashes

I initially loved this app, makes condition reporting more unified and digital. Until I used it for a large project and it crashed constantly making me redo my work over and over and over and over again. The project is going to take days longer than expected. Please account for the crash and loss of work when planning how long a condition report takes

  • Very innovative

A great tool for streamlining condition reporting, very user friendly.
  • Easy to Learn!

I was introduced to this as a volunteer at a museum and was able to swiftly catch on to the configuration. It’s a very user-friendly app. I am very excited to see this becoming more widely-used to avoid all the extra paperwork and time involved in condition reporting.
  • Bridging centuries old trades with 21st century tools

Finding the right tool or technique to conserve or restore a piece of art requires education, experience, patience, and the ability to adapt and overcome. These abilities do not come quickly or are they easily found. However, Articheck may not aid conservators on fine art restoration, but bring forth an added resource to manage ones time more efficiently so that the conservator can accomplish the task at hand in conserving art.

  • Huge time saver !

This app is so great, we needed something that multiple users could access to create condition reports for over 100,000 objects. Thanks to articheck, we did this in record time from different locations. Best of all, it integrates seamlessly with MuseumPlus. I’d recommend this 100%
