Love the app just not quite a 5 star
Hello!! I have now been using the app since the beginning of this school year and I am loving it, it helps we know when classes end, what my next class is, and what my friends classes are. But something frustrating that has been happening is that I have been trying to change my schedule to actually line up with my schedule but every time I say save for future it doesn’t update my other schedules so I have been putting them in manually. From the looks of it my school has a set schedule and I can’t change/update that schedule to what I need it to be. For example I have a zero period on a day that most of the school doesn’t so when I try and add my zero onto the app it will work for that day but won’t update the schedule for future use. I absolutely love this app and its overall idea! It gives me countdowns, lets me connect with my friends and peers, find any friends I need to and so much more, but there is one tiny issue that is common for pretty much everyone in my whole district, and maybe other districts as well but this issue kind of makes the app useless which is why I often hear of people not checking the app or them deleting it because they didn’t need it.
My school starts at 8:40 am and the Saturn Calendar starts its countdown at 8:15 AM. This basically makes the calendar work ahead, which makes it inaccurate. Some days we even leave early or have late starts and some of my classes might start at a different time than the actual “block” says it is. Basically, I want there to be a feature where you can adjust the time if it’s incorrect! It would be really useful to a lot of people I know, and if not more so I would really appreciate it if you could incorporate it into your next update. Hello this is Gracelyn Nutteronu, my daughter has been telling me she can’t change her Wednesday schedule. I want you to fix your app INSTANTLY…. This is so wrong and I’m honestly gonna cry.. my baby daughter is so stressed because of your stupid app!!!😡😡This whole app is so confusing for my daughter.. I genuinely hope you guys understand!! And DONT have a good day until you fix this horrible situation. Back in my school days I’ve never been stressing about schedules from an app. We always used papers and I feel like paper is better and I hope everybody stops using your app. Gen X rise✊🏻✊🏻✊🏻✊🏻. My daughter actually got jumped at school because YOUR schedule lead her to the wrong place. She has a broken rib now, I hope you feel bad now😡😡.. she was too focused on fixing her schedule.. somebody hit her with a Stanley and she also has a very bad concussion🤕🤕. Features ok but security issues.
Saturn works pretty well for sharing schedules and working as a calendar for classes. However, it looks exactly like Snapchat, and there are some privacy and security issues with this app. Upon opening this app you must add your birthday, phone number and what school you attend (this is necessary for schedule to work). It also tries very hard to get access to your contact book in order to see who in there is on the app, BUT, it instead shows every single person you have in your contacts and creates profiles for them on the app even though they aren’t on the app at all. For instance, it said that my grandparents were on the app when they obviously have never created an account for this high school app. Upon revoking access to my contacts, it still kept and stored the information and phone numbers of each person on the app for all to see. Exposes a lot information with little verification
I was sent a link for this app from my child thinking it was some type of schedule sharing app that was associated with the school. After accepting the link and putting in a birthday (that is obviously well above school age) it asked me which year my graduation class was and listed the years 2025 and later. After seeing this screen I quit the app because I am not a student and didn’t want to proceed further. I reopened the app to see if there was a “parent account” option that I might have missed and to my surprise it auto-assigned me as a senior and I was able to immediately see at least a dozen different students, what school year they were in, and social media accounts if the student linked any. This doesn't feel secure or safe to me. I gave a birthdate that obviously puts me in my 40s, verified a text message, and was auto assigned as a senior and gave me access to the names of other students without any kind of actual verification aside from owning a cell phone. If I can fumble my way through the initial set up and accidentally end up seeing this kind of information, how much info could someone see if they are trying actually masquerade as a student?Show lesswinkAnim
Love the app hate having to send invites
I really love this app especially since I can now how much passing time I have left when getting to class and I don’t have to constantly look at the clock to see how much time we have left of class and can start packing up in bag before the bells ring. It’s so helpful I’m glad I found this app my senior year of high school and I’m planning on using it for college if possible. One thing I don’t like is when you enter the app it FORCES you to send at least 5 invites to your friends you can’t even skip that page it’s not fun having to send invites to people to try a app you haven’t even had the chance to try for yourself yet. If the page was optional I wouldn’t mind but I don’t like that feature especially since if an app is good I just tell my friends and they download it the send invites thing is just very annoying especially when it forces you to do it.Show lessBlaze special A
Almost 5 star, but…
I’ve noticed and got a lot of notifications from SMS that my friends sent me a request to be friends on Saturn. Curious and thinking I would have better time management I downloaded this app, and I think everything is neat so far! Except for one thing.
So school just started for me and already there is a tech error, where there were two of the same schedule in a row (when it shouldn’t be that way). Worse, when I change it to the right school schedule I have for this week, it is the same for the next week—I’ll have to change the two days in a row incorrect schedule. Which means that in order to get my entire semester or quarter’s schedule right I will have to change everything, which is time consuming and honestly uncomfortable to use.
I hope you understand what I mean, I am unsure how to fix this with a quicker approach than manually changing my entire schedule to make it right. So for now I don’t use Saturn as the wrong schedules get me confused and honestly I don’t know any easier and faster way to fix this issue. It’s kind of unfortunate that there is already a tech issue on the first week of school, so although it is overall a great app, I think that some parts of the app can be more improved for more accuracy and easier access.Show lessThe Rocket_Scientist

Hi, i’ve just started using Saturn and I love it. These are a few of my suggestions, maybe add a feature where we can have different terms/semesters in a school year, for example my school has what we call 9 weeks and each 9 weeks is a term, sometimes people’s classes change for the second term. We also have 2 semesters per year, so the first semester (aka 2 terms) we have 4 classes and then the next semester (which begins after christmas break) we have 4 different classes. Another one of my suggestions is that we’re able to change the bell schedule ourselves. My bell schedule just changed for this school year and it doesn’t give me an option to change it, all it says I can do is join a queue to wait for it to be updated and I honestly want it to be ready for use before my school year officially starts. I want to start off with how amazing it is. As a freshman last year, about to be a sophomore this year, it helped during class changes to quickly figure out where I’m going next. They have the app with the countdown until the class ends, a great user interface, widgets, and live activities for the Lock Screen - very helpful, that’s why it was given a 4. A small downside is where they are getting data from. My school doesn’t tell you what classes you have with other people, only the classes they have. Saturn gives you the class lists. It’s questionable how they get this data before you even sign up if even I don’t have this data! That’s the only big downside, otherwise amazing app. Would recommend, but the data aspect isn’t favorable.Show lesschristianloga

All the information you see on Saturn comes from public sources like school websites or from information that users have chosen to share on Saturn. Saturn users can only add information about their own schedules, they cannot add other users to a class. All users have the option also make their schedule private, in which case they will not appear in another user's schedule or classes. I got this app because my friend had to invite a few friends to join (another thing you should change because I don’t have a lot of my friend’s phone numbers) and I quickly realized that it requires you to verify you are actually part of the school by either: inviting 5 friends or taking a photo with your school id. This would be fine but even after inviting more than 5 friends it wouldn’t let me verify so I deleted the account and started over. The new account had the same issue and that time I let it go. About a week later I did get confirmation that I am verified but noticed my second account was still listed. I contacted support about this about a half an hour ago (not that long but it’s over text so I’d assume it to go faster). Another thing is that you can only make an account through phone number there should be an email option so you can use a separate email for a new account.
Other than these 3 main issues the app is really good and clearly shows class times and schedules.Show lessTheBrock24
