A must if you want to learn about photography
Emma’s course is wonderful. The weekly homework emails are easy to follow. Emma writes the content beautifully even the very technical parts which like me you might need to read again but that’s only because you want it to really sink in. The app has a real community feel and is very engaging. It’s great to see all the progress from the members and all the blog updates and tips from Emma are very encouraging. I’m only 2 months in but I’m getting so much out of this course already. It’s making me pick up my camera and it doesn’t matter if you end up slightly behind as I’ve done on a week or so. It’s easy to catch up.

Brilliant Course
I started this course in June 2020 and it was the best thing I have done this year. I have always wanted to learn how to get off auto and I have achieved this and much more.
The pace of the course is just right with weekly lessons and catch up weeks at the end of each module in case life gets in the way!
The support from the admin team and also your peers is great, very supportive.
I bought the workbooks that go with the course, but there is no pressure to do that.
I would highly recommend this course to anyone wanting to learn how to use their camera and get off auto.

Supportive photography course
I went from getting my first DSLR camera just before the course 11 mo ago, to confidently using manual mode in a few weeks. A well structured workshop at a comfortable pace with great support, guidance from the expert Team with many special interest groups to join under the same umbrella. A welcoming, friendly, diverse community. I had no idea, that an online course can be so interactive with family-like atmosphere. I love the app on my iPhone, iPad, iMac. No wonder, I’ve been recommending it. Thank you!

Great course
This is an excellent course, really helpful & clearly written lessons! A great concept having this appt, so much easier having it all in one place than lost in a social media group.
However the app keeps crashing so needs fixing!

Not working
Is anyone having trouble with this app suddenly not working on their iPhone? It worked fine for a month and now I suddenly can’tEven open it. I even uninstalled and reinstalled it :(
Cannot open/crashes
So sorry for the review but wasn’t sure best way to let you know. The app crashes instantly on clicking the ‘i agree’ button right after Get Started screen. iPhone 7. Is there a fix please?

Amazing course for anyone with an interest photography, Emma and the team are amazing , answering questions , giving feedback . Course is so well set out especially using the app . Lots of like minded people all in one place giving each other help and ideas no intimidation or criticism. Course is totally free! Yes free by email for a whole year can you believe that ! Buy the app or the workbooks if you want( I have ) but if you don’t want to don’t ! Can’t thank Emma enough as my camera would still be sitting in the drawer !

Brilliant Course!
AYWMC ( A Year With My Camera) is such an amazing course and the app is the same! For anyone signing up to do the free 12 month course which takes you step by step through learning about your camera and the basics of photography the app is very helpful! It’s a yearly payment and is well worth it. You don’t absolutely need the app to do the course but the feedback from peers and a place to post your homework is wonderful, as well as the different groups ( eg Camera types - Canon, Nikon, Fuji and photography interests - Macro, landscape, flowers etc.) to ask questions etc. It’s great! What more do you need to know????? Go sign up!!!
