  • I started shoving 100bb like DTO and now I’m a huge winner

I kid. Seriously though, this is one of the best learning tools. I keep it a secret.
  • Need more deep stack spots and explanations

Good app in concept, things I really need
    1. Appears to be constructed more for tournament play and stack depths, would be preferred to have more 100bb 200bb spots (very limited right now in deep stack) to practice
    2. Like other reviews, some explanations (this can be a lot of work but perhaps you can create software component that detects your hand and flop (e.g. gut shot on wet board and you have no flush blockers) as you can have maybe auto generated text that could guide user to figure out the best line
    3. Please comment in app description about accuracy of solutions; how do they compare to PIO? If I put your ranges and situation in pio will I get same result?

Hi there, thanks for your feedback. 1) Those deep stack spots are coming. You’re correct that the primary focus off the app is tournament play. We’re probably not going to launch any 200bb spots though. 2) This is sadly impossible. Oversimplifications such as your example would imply that GTO Poker is easy. It’s not. That’s why we have a dedicated discord to discuss hands. We also have #DTOConcepts on our socials. 3)Our sims are solved at a very high accuracy. Assuming you run your sims correctly your results should get reasonably close to ours
  • Explanations/Discussion needed

Being able to work through situations anywhere/anytime is great. Only thing missing is an explanation as to why I made a mistake or why the line I chose is not optimal. Left frustrated not knowing why and don’t feel I’ve gained the knowledge to work through a similar situation in the future.

Hi Khodak, providing a human explanation for any of our over 100 million generated solutions is sadly impossible. That’s why we have a very active discord and social media. I’d like to invite you to reach out to us on there should you have any questions about hands.
  • Unbelievable App must have for active phone users

A wonderful app in and of its own right. Very clean and intuitive. Beyond that it’s really the first gto solver you can use on a phone. If you prefer phones over computers for studying this is an unavoidable purchase.
  • Great learning tool, could be more user friendly

DTO is an awesome learning tool for advanced poker players who want to improve their game against tough opponents. However, its educational value would be greatly improved by being less of a black box - there’s never any explanation or context given for why a given line is optimal. I get that there’s value in trying to deduce it yourself, but some times I’m just completely baffled, like spots where anything but donk betting is considered a blunder. Or like, why certain hands are selected as mandatory river bluffs on 4 flush boards. If you could just give a little hint as to the solvers rationale that would be awesome. I’m a related vein, explaining the scoring system would be nice.

My other change is request is: it seems like villains hand is almost always selected for maximal troll value. Like, it seems like you’re trying to teach us not to be results oriented by often having the optimal line involve us barreling into the nuts, but I think this backfired by making it a more frustrating experience. Like, we already know what it feels like to blast off into the nuts. Also when I replay a spot after making a mistake, k owing villains hand makes it harder to be unbiased. At least you could keep it hidden until you reach showdown, but a next level improvement would be to randomize it within the set of hands they could take a line with.

Ultimately these are smallish complaints; it’s definitely a great product for serious players looking for an automated trainer.

  • Problem

Just bought this app for the monthly plan
Got a new iPhone 11 a few days later and doesn’t recognize my subscription
So I’m still paying 10 dollars a month and it won’t let me use the app
  • Brilliant Idea

I think this is an absolutely brilliant idea for an app. You can maximize valuable time through your day by pulling up the app whenever you have a spare minute and work on your game!
  • It doesn't work

On iPhone 7, iOS 12.1 it doesn't work.
At the start, it shows a "note of privacy and our terms" where i can't do anything, the app doesn't let me to tap "I have read (...)"
    What can i do?

    Developer Response

Hi Antonio, please update your iOS. This is unfortunately a common problem on iOS 12.1 Kind regards, Team DTO
  • Review

Great app and I’m learning a little bit in spots usually I would have checked and now betting for value. The only thing I would like to see is possibly having feedback from each scenario that I choose even if I’m wrong. giving feedback why it’s bad and or good I think would make this app a lot better and also possibly adding a link so I can use a preflop range with any spot on the table vs any raise or bets.

  • Efficient

Great way of improving your game theory optimized game with least amount of effort and time. Oh and they managed to make it fun what is usually pretty dry studying.
