  • Enchanted Kingdom: Fiend of Darkness by LynxMinx

Although the storyline in this series was not overly unique (because you portray a healer, and there is always an evil entity causing an epidemic amongst the citizens of the Tar-Liss Empire), the gameplay was fast-paced and exciting! Oleg and his “wizards of Domini” still managed to put a creative and innovative spin on the HO puzzles, the mini-games, the tasks and the inventory usage. Even your healer’s kit was upgraded from an ordinary tool to a magical diagnostic scepter, which had a plethora of mini-games attached to it. This game was fully customizable (as always), and had all the bells and whistles, including a marked teleport map (Domini by far provides us with the best transport map of any developer, bar none!), collectibles indicators, and interactive and interesting complex items to assemble. Collectibles included Empress Patricia’s diary pages, dragon statuettes, and dragon eggs, which you may then utilize to decorate your medical laboratory. The HO scenes had a really novel variety, with the alternate match-3 puzzle as well. I would love to see mahjong as an alternate puzzle in upcoming games, just to keep the series from feeling stale. The graphics were colorful and beautiful, although the cut-scenes could have been sharpened up for the sake of visual acuity. Inventory usage often resulted in unexpected results, be it an HO scene, a mini-game or a magical and wondrous occurrence. This game was lengthy inclusive of the bonus adventure. The only issue I had was that at times the game felt a bit “sluggish,” especially when unlocking a newly discovered location. I had to tap repeatedly to move to a couple of brand new locations. There were also some minor touch screen sensitivity issues when applying inventory items and I believe these two issues were related.
However, this minor quibble didn’t detract from the amazing gameplay! I loved this game and felt it was well worth the new sale price. Kindly do not complain about the slight increase, when the game was as long and action packed as it was. Remember what we pay for games from another developer (hint: 🐘) and realize that we need to support Oleg and enable his company to make ends meet if we want more games!
My true rating will be 4.5 stars, and I deducted the half star due to the touch screen sensitivity issues I spoke of earlier. I can’t wait for our next game from Domini; unfortunately we have to wait a month.)
Thank you, Oleg, Valentin and your terrific team, for another incredible journey! Lynxie wishes everyone a very happy gaming experience.

  • Excellent!

Im so glad to see developers step away from BF and go at it themselves. From how little they (BF) seems to care about customers...I can’t imagine just how bad the developers are shafted/treated.
Anyhow I’m always happy to support and just wanted to say Thanks for not stranding is HO lovers!
    As for the game....
5 fantastic stars! Not a glitch in sight! Love the setting customization...(I love choosing a hard play through with a few optional easy features)
The length was fabulous....it just kept going and going!
Puzzles/mini games were super! Appreciate the easy/hard feature, as my main gripe with a lot of these games is they’re just too easy ...well not this game :)
Nice story with cutscenes that were skipable (another feature I LoVE)
Just an all round great game! Can’t wait to see what the future holds!

  • Not My Favorite, But Still A Decent Offering.

Being a die-hard fan of The Hobbit Trilogy, I get excited when fantasy-oriented games incorporate dragons into the storylines. Maybe it's also a subconscious connection to my favorite childhood toy, a stuffed dragon named "Puff the Magic Dragon." The storyline stays inside-the-box, meaning it conveys an idea similar to its predecessors, and you perform the same repetitive tasks: you meet and diagnose victims of the disease, find ingredients to create the healing potion, and play the trial-and-error distillery game.

The illustrations are overwhelmingly saturated by a dark purple-blue coloration, thus obscuring the many fine environmental details; and this, in my opinion, detracts from what could have been an exquisite artistic design. The whimsical interactions within the environment provide some "ooh" and "aah" moments.

The gameplay is, unfortunately, lackluster, as it pales in comparison to the stimulating gameplay within Mystery Tales: Reel Horror. Whereas some of the HOSs are conceptually creative, most are nondescript in execution, lacking the puzzle-like elements this developer normally instills. They comprise run-of-the-mill formats, but I do favor the storybook settings that tell the backstory. A considerable amount of the puzzles are composed of mini-puzzles stemming from the diagnosis of victims; however, they comprise assorted formats to avoid dullness. On the flip side, none of the puzzles are uniquely presented and challenging, even on the harder mode. You still have the option of configuring the difficulty of the puzzles to your preference, as well as enabling the option on the map to indicate which locations have collectibles. The collectibles are entertaining in that you learn some interesting facts relating to the theme of the storyline.

Overall, I love this developer, but this game didn't impress me enough due to the shortage of sophisticated qualities as demonstrated throughout their other series. However, my rating is 4 stars to reflect my satisfaction over the length of playtime. There are plenty of tasks to effectuate within each location. It is still a decent offering to fill in some free time.

On a final note, I notice the introductory price increased by $2 — from $2.99 to $4.99. I hope the price doesn't jump up higher in the future.

KimTwilight69,thank you for your feedback! As always, it’s very constructive and valuable for us. We will take into account all your suggestions. Some price increase is the necessary measure. In the near future, we aren’t going to increase prices.
  • Living in Peace with 🐉

Quite impressive in color and detail, much to view. Collectibles with signals at each scene. Many tasks to accomplish and plenty long in play. I personally lean to mystery, detective, ghost, horror type of game. But had no problem continuing this one. Keep them coming and we will play.

  • A beautiful DoMini Healer Game

I love the new twist using a crystal and playing mini games to determine diagnoses. As always beautiful graphics and a great storyline.

  • Which game?

Welcome back Domini! One of my favorite developers! I haven’t played yet. I usually buy right away. I have yet to be disappointed plus I don’t want to miss the sale (who doesn’t want to save $2)?! However, I’m confused. The screenshots above say Enchanted Kingdom: A Stranger’s Venom but once downloaded (and my purchase receipt) it says Enchanted Kingdom: The Fiend of Darkness. Just thought I would bring that to your attention. I’ll be back to update my review after playing!
