Cute but ultimately lacking
I want to like this so much. It’s a cute world, and when there is color it’s enjoyable to look at. The controls are a little glitchy. Sometimes the character goes where I want them to, sometimes I have to try several times to get them moving the right direction. I would really like to be able to move with my Apple Pencil because it’s not ergonomically friendly to use my finger, but that seems to cause issues.
The game starts REALLY SLOWLY. More unlocks over time, but I think developers underestimated how much new players want to get in there and interact with the game. It’s unclear what to do at times. Do I want to save for the shop upgrade? Do I want to sell things or keep them for tomorrow’s new feature, or the next day’s?
Additionally, it’s hard to see things you can interact with. My fruit trees may be glitching, but I can’t see they are special unless I accidentally click on them and they suddenly show fruit and ask if I want to harvest. It’s hard to see what items from the environment I can interact with. I would REALLY like interactable elements to always have at least low tone, which can brighten as the area lightens each day. (I am not 100% in love with the way everything goes monochrome every day).
I want to enjoy this game but ultimately I just don’t see it being something I want to stick out to see if it gets more interesting with time. I wish it grabbed me more from the start. I will stick to stardew valley and animal crossing.
