I love this game

Slay

Shorter than 1st but just as wonderful

Interface during conversations plus a few other aspects were improved upon. This game was well made and I love anything made by this developer

Great game

These games are so well thought out and I’m genuinely glad that this isn’t a hidden objects or literal puzzle game. From a criminologist student, this is fun!

Will update to higher if info is fixed

I can't figure out how to contact y'all since I'm not on social media. I found errors in the game that seems like a big detail...no real spoilers for folks reading.

In One Step Ahead, April says Rich has been missing since March 8, 2006 and that Rich and Emma met June 3rd 2005.

In Cell Phone, "I" say that Emma has been dating Rich earlier that parents thought, starting June 3, 2006. That's actually a year later than mom said.

Then in Emma Windale, in the general inquiry before I visit the family, "I" note that Rich has been missing since April 5th, 2007. Why would the parents and I be saying different missing dates? I went straight from the Cell Phone to Emma so perhaps I missed something in another friends interrogation. If not, that seems like basic info y'all should have streamlined in the story. It's hard to build a timeline as a detective when basic facts don't line up.

Thanks for your attention to these details!

I will definitely update my rating to many stars when I hear back that this will be fixed. I just didn't have another way of contacting y'all to let you know.

Could have been better

I personally felt that the format for this game as well as the story was a downgrade from the first game. I appreciate having the option to write notes but the dialogue such as the interviews might as well have been written in a script format instead of having to click. The clues and conclude investigation options should not have been only accessible when we go to the first page.

Also, there are times when there is a dialogue between the characters. For instance when jonathan met roman at the cafe. I feel like drawing out this scene instead of using the same images would improve the visuals and the experience.

The story for this game was underwhelming, too. If I am being honest, I was disappointed when I first saw that this would be following jonathan because i expected the second game to follow a different story. However, after playing for a while and finding out it’s a missing persons case that he is working on, I became interested and invested in the story. The problem is that towards the end, around the time that mark is ******, the story goes downhill. Sometimes I wanted to go through the screen a slap jonathan because things that he said and dis both did not make sense and were not smart, especially considering he’s an investigator. That’s all I can say without spoiling the story. I also don’t understand why the writer(s) thought it would be a good idea to have roman practically lecture us on all the ways to hide a dead body. The scene felt useless and unnatural, and could have been shortened. The readers do not need to be educated on these specific details. And don’t get me started on how out of place the nightmare on the airplane and the finale were.

There are other things that I disliked but it would take too long to cover everything. There are some things that I liked such as investigating rich, reading through the different witnesses from the party and trying to find consistencies in their story. But, at least in my opinion, the negatives overshadowed the positives. This definitely doesn’t deserve 5 stars.

Best game I've ever played

I've played the whole trilogy, and can't wait to get my hands on the fourth when it comes out. The storyline is one of the most intricate I've ever encountered. Even the puzzles are top notch. I really like the way the developers don't assume we're stupid and included plenty of deduction/inference sequences. What was absolutely awesome was that I despised the *o**o* **o**e** and was completely on my character's side in the first game, but how the turntables by the third. It takes a master storyteller to do something like that, which the developers are.

I could not get enough of this second installment! I liked the way a bunch of questions were answered, and how this game simultaneously snuck in tons of tidbits from the first game and foreshadowed the third (and fourth I suppose) heavily. I also think the dialogue/investigation format here was a big improvement from the first, which, call me an idiot, took me until Crimson Creek to understand in the first game; from here onwards you don't have to play guessing games with which question-paths you've already taken, haha. Anyway, I'm really glad you guys chose to Jonathan's story to expand on in game 2, because I feel like it needed to be told before the brothers'.

What I can't get over besides the wonderful story and mechanics is how much effort was put into this series. Seriously, it melted my heart when I realized the whole thing was completely free and I didn't have to watch any ads at all. Even the programming looks like it would have taken a ton of money, time, and effort, and you had to work on stuff like the little hints Natalie drops as well as the clues for every step! You guys are some of the most intelligent, hard-working, and generous people I have had the fortune to meet by proxy through your apps.

Just to reiterate: I cannot get enough of the storytelling. My heartstrings were masterfully tugged, and this game will always have a place in my heart.

There are issues with typography and (in my opinion) lack of foreshadowing for some reveals, but that isn't nearly enough to warrant a negative review or even half a star off. 5 stars all the way for the Murder Mystery saga.

★ ★ ★ ★ ☆

this game is very good, but it’s not as good as the first game :|

☻︎
~the layout in this game is way better than the previous game
~the story in this game is very interesting

☹︎
~this game is way easier, given that you have to select options rather than type answers (like in the first game) when concluding an investigation
~there are less details than in the first game, meaning that sometimes you have to guess the answers a bit :( in the first game it was more like actually figuring it out rather than guessing using the options you’re given
~like someone in another review said, it has turned into more of an interactive story than a game

overall this game is still really great. the only reason i gave it 4 stars is because it’s just not as difficult as the first one. shadows of the past was really fun ´・ᴗ・` -there should be more levels like this

i’m sooo excited to play the next game bc im very invested in the story lol

anyways this game is great and the author of this game is very talented! i would donate but i’m only 15 lol

Another belter!

Well done to the developer of these great games, how generous to make them free, I loved murder mystery so much I donated £5.00 as I think it gave me such joy, after watching his you tube videos I realised that some people felt it was too hard but that was one of my favourite aspects of the game. After starting to play the second game mm2 it seems the format and game has been made slightly easier perhaps to cater to those that found it hard, this is a shame as it’s now become a bit too easy and formulaic, I’m still enjoying it but it’s now more an interactive story rather than you using your brain like the first game, it is still a better game than most out there though and the developer is fantastic at building characters and story’s. Thank you for all your hard work it gives me such pleasure.
