  • Doesn’t work

Simply doesn’t connect to my Ninja V+ with Atomos Connect attached.
  • Missed opportunity!

What a waste of an app, it could’ve been amazing, it could’ve given the battery percentage and control over all of the ninjas at the same time. Instead, you can only control one ninja at a time and to control the ninja you have to press the control button on the back of the ninja which defeats the purpose of being able to see the battery levels etc. Such a shame this app could’ve been amazing and I can see why nobody likes it and nobody uses it.

  • This is a much needed app, but needs a LOT of improvement!

I found that the AtomRemote Desktop app is perfect for what I was trying to accomplish because keyboard shortcuts can be used to start recording on a Ninja device (with a connect module added). The only issue is that the app has very unreliable connection over bluetooth (The connection drops out after few seconds and can take up to a minute or two to reconnect at times). This makes it completely unreliable for important recording work. I saw that other people using the app have had the same issue with it.

If Atomos could make the app capable of holding a reliable connection without dropping out, it would make my entire workflow possible. I would suggest allowing users to connect Ninja V’s to the AtomRemote desktop app using ethernet. A wifi connection would also be a great option. At the very least, the AirGlu Bluetooth connection should be improved to a reliable level.

  • Shogun 7 Connect

Atomos states that it is possible to control the Shogun 7 Connect by using the App. But it is only possible to pair if being in a range of 2 meters away from the Shogun, then shortly after being paired it will be disconnected and then rapid connect/disconnect happen but none of the controls works if connected. -> Useless

  • Just doesn’t work.

Connects but drops signal. When it is connected there is no remote button on ninja screen, and the app doesn’t see any of the ninja settings, battery atomx module, ssd space.
Have same issue connecting atomx sync to zoom f6 and to ultra sync one.
  • Shogun Connect support?

Doesn't seem to support the new Shogun Connect yet.
  • This app is worthless

The app “connects” to the atom sync but it doesnt detect my Sony a7S3 camera. Using the Ninja V, not the +. If you guys read these reviews and think my SYNC module may have a problem, please reply to this review. Thx
  • Excellent Bluetooth Remote Control For Ninja V+

Initially I could not get the AtomRemote app to pair and form a solid Bluetooth connection with my Ninja V+ using this app. I returned the first Atom X Sync unit and the vender sent a second unit which exhibited the same problem. I contacted Atomos Support and they have sent me a replacement Atom X Sync module which, at my request, they pre-tested for a solid Bluetooth connection. This module from Atomos Support works perfectly with the AtomRemote app to allow full remote control of my Ninja V+ including both record and playback as well as a myriad of other Ninja V+ functions. I have tested the Bluetooth up to 30 feet away from the Ninja V+ and I had no problems maintaining a steady remote control. This app and module greatly extend the utility of the Ninja V+ system.

  • Doesn’t work with Ninja V

Despite what this says, it doesn’t work to control the Ninja V. I bought two Sync modules to remote control my Ninja V and V Plus. Neither of them hold a connection. The connections comes and then disconnects every 5-10 seconds. Tried the setup process over and over again but to no avail.
  • Very useful

This app works fine if you update your Ninja’s firmware as instructed, go to the Ninja’s Sync Config tab and pair with the app, then activate Remote mode by tapping the remote icon on the Ninja’s screen.

If the app doesn’t work, you haven’t done one or more of those things. Also the support URL is atomos.com/support, not /atomx… no idea where the other reviewer got that.

Meanwhile… the app lets you do pretty much anything you can do on the Ninja. Also, if your unit stops recording unexpectedly (like an input cable gets yanked out), your phone will vibrate to warn you. Bonus.
