  • Great app and experience

    Had a friend recommend this to me when I moved as a way to meet people. Was nervous in the few weeks before season started and ahead of the first game but my teammates are lovely and have made a couple of new friends from it. App makes it easy to chat to support + check game details and RSVP too.
  • Needs to be better organised

    Well since I was asked to write a review, the last 2 competitions I’ve joined up for were canceled back to back. This is despite it saying there were less than 3 places left when I signed up (which must be false because on both occasions I was told it was cancelled due to insufficient people…how can there be insufficient people of there were only 3 places left?…either the reason is a lie, or the places available is misleading, it must be one). Not to mention my $200 has been held this entire time…you can get it back, but they’ve been holding your $200 for the entire time. It is a good concept, but clearly needs some work.

  • Great idea, but pretty bad execution. No accountability.

    I registered for a team then it was cancelled two days before it was due to start. Was issued with a credit, which meant I then had to wait weeks for another comp to open up, registered for another comp that was cheaper, no refund offered on the balance.

    Now I’m in a comp and have only had a full team show up once. One game was forfeited 15 minutes before it started. No offer of a refund even though I didn’t get to play the game.

  • Quick and easy way to find a team and get playing

    I didn’t have a stable team where I could play regularly. Was looking to join any existing team that play at venues close to me. Got the reference to Justplay app from my local sport centre. And found that you can easily join the team in a season over the app, and justplay team will allocate you. Justplay have a few teams registered at many venues, and places in teams are dynamically available, so if you’re lucky, you can get into play for one or few games immediately if place is available. Or you can sign up for a full next season with the team (you’ll need to wait a bit until next season begins). Overall the app is very good, and Justplay team does a great job to get you in a team and play your sport. I really appreciate their effort!

  • Disappointed

    Have been playing for a season at Knox basketball, one of 2 players who actually turned up every game, we struggled to fill a team every week and I asked for a reliable friend to assist and join but was told the team is full so we had to play with 5 almost every game, I flagged these issues with the just play team and was effectively taken off the roster and now told can’t play for 3 months at a completely different Venue… very frustrating and disappointing. I would not recommend using this app

    I'm sorry to hear you haven't enjoyed your time with Just Play. I've just taken a look at the conversation you had with our Customer Support team and want to let you know that you absolutely weren't penalised or removed from the team for flagging any issues. We can see in the game reports for your team that you consistently had a full team (with 4-5 permanent players attending each week, plus fill-ins) and as everyone renewed for next season we unfortunately did not have capacity for your friend to also join the team. As you were keen to join a team with your friend, we offered you a few other options, one of which was a competition starting in September - you absolutely are able to play before then in a different competition if you'd like, I believe our Customer Support offered you a few options with some earlier start dates. We also were more than happy to add you back to your original team instead of a different venue and offered this option. We do our best to get everyone playing in a competition that suits them and I'm sorry to hear that you haven't enjoyed your time so far. If you have any other questions or would like a hand finding other competitions that do have capacity for yourself and your friend, please feel free to reach back out to our Customer Support team.
  • Great concept supported by a well-made app

    As I arrived in Australia in January 2022 not knowing much people, I looked for options to practice team sports and meet people. I quickly found Just Play as a convenient solution for that, and that discovery has definitely been worth it ! The app works perfectly well and is very cleverly-made (simple click to show whenever I’m not available, free spots automatically added into One Game to complete the team etc.). The price is definitely worth it and I’m really happy to alternate seasons in Just Play and one shot games in One Game whenever I’m free. Also, I have to add that the support team is really responsive and helpful, whenever I’ve had an issue they’ve been able to help within the day.

    Coming from France, I’ve never heard about such an app there, you probably have a market to conquer :)

  • Management issues

    I did a review on this app awhile go and my thoughts on some features to add to the app which my opt would make it better and not just see what time games starts.

    However I have to put this in because it’s just getting frustrating to see that game times have been changed at the very last minute or on game days. Also we had a scenario where all of my teammates arrived ready to play, to then have the ref showed us a text saying the team forfeited. It’s frustrating to the players who has to travel a fair bit in traffic or rush over to find the disappointment of no game when they arrive.

    Management isn’t perfect. But this has been happening so many times. Especially with the time changes. I love what you guys are providing but this needs to be addressed

Thanks for leaving this feedback - I definitely understand how frustrating this scenario is, especially happening multiple times, and I'm really sorry this is the experience you've had. We do our best to make sure all communication is clear, accurate, and timely. Unfortunately sometimes game times are changed by the venue at the last minute, which can make that difficult.   • Casual play

    I paid casual on the web so I thought I am all set. When I turned up on the stadium the app wouldnt show my game. I tried to log on on my phone using safari but it kept taking me back to the app. I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to play because after paying it didnt show my team. I tried incognito mode and thats where I saw my game and team(luckily). Going back to the web it says it will be replaced by the app and I think that’s a bad move. The app doesnt seem to be 100% ready. Overall the experience was good though. To be able to play pick up without having the commitment.

If it was just a one-off game you would have needed our sister app One Game to see the game details - Just Play is for full season memberships. You'll be happy to hear we have some new developments on both web and app coming soon, so keep your eyes peeled! 👀
  • Super Convenient

    This app has been awesome as I have been struggling to get back into social sports since COVID, as all my previous social sport buddies have been busy and my schedule changed completely as I started a new job.
    Just play has been awesome as I can join on my own or with friends, and I don’t need to sign up with a full team to be able to play with friends!
    The price is 100% worth it for the convenience of having a team organised and also the ability to just label myself unavailable for a week - they organise a sub so I don’t have to worry about my team being a player down.
    On top of that my team mates have all been awesome which adds to the fun factor!

  • Waste of money

    Biggest issue is the lack of communication with teams and the venue. Just play had the wrong info for a couple of our games which was very frustrating, eg. Wrong court and times, and piercing/ other requirements.
    We also paid double what you normally would for only HALF the season, seems very unfair and a big waste of money.
    We have only played 3 games so far and have no information whether or not we will be getting reimbursed for the games we have been unable to play.
    Overall not very happy, there is a lot of issues that need to be fixed before this app is a benefit to players.

    Hey Jaiden, thanks for your feedback. We apologise for listing the incorrect game times, we work very hard to make sure we have the correct information so take it seriously when we get it wrong. Please get in contact with our Customer Support team to let us know what the differences in piercing/other requirements are - we list what the venue provides us so if this incorrect we'll need to update it. If you're based in Sydney, you should have a received a message from us regarding the state of your team and season. If you're based in Melbourne, you'll be hearing from us in the next month as restrictions ease and games come back online.
