When I tried reporting someone for threatening me and HARASSING ME, nothing happened. But when little Timmy reported me for SAYING HE IS ANNOYING, I GET SUSPENDED FOR A DAY. I don’t believe this app should even exist, it prevents the one thing it says in the bill of rights, FREEDOM OF SPEECH! and guess what, you can falsely report someone, AND IT STILL WORKS! So I learned the lesson to not use this app AND TELL THE PRINCIPAL!!

The app that was supposed to change everything. A comprehensive review of Speak Up.
I was a young lad when I first experienced bullying. It changed me. Speak Up was the solution to this problem. A “game changer”. Or at least it was supposed to be. Marketed across KatyIsd as the solution to the unbalanced power dynamic in Katy schools, where rich parents, rich kids, where the ones with influence could virtually do whatever they want. Speak Up was the glimmering hope for kids and the bottom feeders of Katy schools, where they could finally stand tall and free. Or at least it was supposed to be.
As soon as Speak Up was introduced to my Elementary School, it was quickly ignored and oftentimes forgotten. Kids didn’t know what to do with this platform. Then, later on, the problems started. Kids using the app to report minor slights and inconveniences that could be figured out in a matter of seconds by any teacher, blowing the problem out of proportion. Kids “snitching” reporting any dirt they can find on other kids. People using the app for malignant purposes, and teachers and the administrators of the app caring less about serious problems like bullying and more about the minor problems reported on this app. For testing purposes, I reported a close friend and colleague of possessing vape. The response was almost immediate. 48 seconds to be exact. They didn’t question it, and he immediately got in trouble. Again, I tested the app by reporting a close friend and fellow comrade of repeatedly harassing and bullying another male student. The response took around 2 days. I then reported my brother of harassing and bullying a fellow female student. The response time? 37 seconds.
I am seriously dissatisfied with how this app turned out. Now I will disclose in the following section the interrogation times of the fellow colleagues:
Student 1 : 2 hours, parents were called.
Student 2 : 15-20 minutes, minor consequences
Student 3 (brother) : 4 hours about 30 minutes, parents called, investigation started by police, questioning of his friends.
I have yet to prepare further tests as I am in ISS but if I can I will update my findings.
I do not recommend this app to anyone who isn’t a snitch. The benefits of owning this app are minimal, and in most cases this app is not necessary at all. This app is corrupt and a vile enemy of students at KatyIsd.
