  • Intimacy

Intimacy is a confusing topic for me. Intimacy in my life was always connected with physical intimacy and the lines in my head were so blurred and confused that I feared intimacy with God. Not trusting anyone because of deep hurts from the past complicated things even more. Trusting God was always conditional, and always on my terms. Intimacy with God was unattainable. I am learning that physical intimacy is designed to be an outward manifestation of deeper connection and it’s all based on a foundation of trust; something I gave up on long ago. But Our Father in His wonderful gentle way has been teaching me what trust is and what true intimacy is. Practice makes progress. It felt weird in the beginning. Wrong even. The process is gentle and simple- so simple you might think it won’t have the power to overcome pain and fear. It leads you to trust Jesus. Really trust Him. Freedom. Everything and everyone I give to you God. I love you Jesus. I really love you!
Thank you for helping me to receive His gifts that were always available for me, but I never trusted Him enough to receive them.
    Much love,

  • Embracing Resilience and asking for more.

After purchasing the book Resilience an audio form, john recommends using the Pause app to be on a 30 day journey to develop a resilient heart.

The thoughtful structure, the care, and the professionalism put into each session gives the soul and the heart an ideal environment to build trust. I didn’t expect each session to feel personalized. I didn’t expect every session to be timely. Even on my third time through, each session is for that moment. Even when I select an optional session. From benevolent detachment through the extended pause, I find I’m grateful for the developers and pray for them and their families and their wellbeing. They, in faith built it for me, prayed over it, for me, tested it, made adjustments for me. Thank you for reading my review. Download this app for your journey to resilience.
  • Excellent start and finish to your day

I was aware I needed a structured yet doable end and beginning to each day to give my day’s struggles to God and to start my day centered on God. It absolutely had to include prayer and scripture. This fit my need exactly. No amount of self-help will stand the test of time that being deeply in union with Christ will accomplish. Great job Mr. Eldredge. I appreciate that you can’t just skip ahead in the app. You have to finish each day’s meditation to progress to the next. It gets deep, but you get plenty of warming up. I felt it was what I needed to shed off the pain and suffering of the last few years. Jesus alone gets my pain and He is the best counselor. So glad this app gave me structure to get there.
A Note: I fully disagree with us being “amphibians”. I understand the metaphor but it’s a dangerous one in these days where eroding the Creation story is manifest everywhere. So I had to actively look past that part which detracted a little. I was glad a friend gave me heads up on that. Would love an explanation as to why that was included in such a beautiful program. It raises serious questions for me. Because it was repeated so often, I couldn’t give 5 stars. I will restart the app and see if that becomes too much of an obstacle for me.
Overall very happy with the app!
