Not ready for a large crowd at one place
Couple hundred people gathered at a bar to watch a football game, and the app crashed and couldn’t handle the volume. The app was unable to locate the bar or search for it. Not impressed AT ALL.Poorly designed app
App doesn’t let you order using the app and charges you a $1 every transaction to use it.
I downloaded it and tried to use it at a bar. The bartender didn’t know how to use it, so I paid with my card and didn’t use the app. Despite not using the app, it charged me a $2 fee for having a tab (not sure why it double charged me) and tipped 20% automatically.
Waste of money and time.Show lessDeveloper Response
Hi Chandler. TabX doesn’t allow ordering because we’re designed for high volume bars and concert venues where ordering through an app would be a nightmare and cause more problems than it solves. We simply let people open and close their tabs from their phones instead of standing in line for 5 to 20 minutes to close out. We think $0.97 for 5 minutes or more of your time is fair. Also, as more people adopt TabX, instead of waiting for bartenders to run someone else’s card before taking your order, you’ll be able to get served quicker. We hate you had a bad experience. Can you email us at support@tabxapp.com and let us know where this happened? We’ll make sure to do another staff training there. Knowing all this will you give TabX one more shot and let us know if it’s a better experience.Kept getting an error
I tried to close my tab several times last night and every time it gave me an error. Then I went up to the bar to just close it normally and the staff said since I opened it in the app I couldn’t close it outside the app, I had to use the app. So I tried again and again. I used 3 different cards to try and it still didn’t work. Never could get it to work. I guess the staff ended up figuring a way to close it but super annoying.Show less
