  • Don't like it

Got too complicated compared to the original version
  • Great App

This is my favorite solitaire app. There are a lot of games to play. If you don’t know how to play them, the rules are easy to read and follow. If you have any issues, you can email the developer and he answers quickly. I highly recommend it!
  • Freezes Often

I was excited to see that a second version of this app was available.
I play the first version almost every day.
This incarnation has some issues that need to ironed out to warrant a better rating.
    1) I’ve yet to play one full game without the app shutting down during gameplay.
I have the app on my iPhone 6 and 7 and have had similar issues
    2) I will say that when the game does restart it at least remembers where you were before the crash.
    3) I haven’t had enough time to play around with the backgrounds and getting to know the different layouts and card choices because of the crashes.
    4) A minor nit to pick but could you please put a star or some other icon to denote which games are new to the second version.

Please address those issues and I’m sure I’ll love this version as much as I did the original.

Hi! Are you by chance playing Gaps or Montana? There is a known bug that will cause the app to quit if you try to pick up an unplayable card. The next update will have that fixed. Either way, it would be great if you would use the support link to write to me. I would love to ask a couple questions to get more details from you, and see if there is something else I can look at. Thanks!
  • Forever II

I've been posting Solitaire Forever since almost forever, so I was looking forward to this, but at the moment it doesn't work at all on my iPad. Blank, black screen.
OK - I deleted, reloaded the app and, for good measure rebooted the iPad. It now works fine. Thanks.
Uh,uh! I lost it again when I turned to landscape view. Back to black screen.
I can't find your email on the support page.

Glad you like the first app, thanks! I don't know why you see a blank screen. No one else has reported anything like that. I would try uninstalling it and installing it again. Perhaps try restarting your iPad also. If that doesn't work, please email me (see my support page), and I will do everything I can to help. * EDIT: The "support" link in the app store goes directly to my support page, or you can tap the "support" link from anywhere on my website. The email address is right near the top of the page. We can chat easier over email. :)

Excellent graphics not as good as old original game. Finished 1st game could not find how to start another game. Look forward to updates.

    Thanks

Many thanks for you reply yes found the controls and agree when you end the game it would be easier if they appeared when the game is completed automatically.

Update: Good news! In version 1.0.4 when you win a game, options appear right away to deal a new game or return to the game selection. Original response: Hi Flyer! On-screen controls while you play are limited to things that need to be one touch away. Pause the game for more options, such as dealing a new game or returning to the game selection screen. I look forward to future updates as well. For example, perhaps I can bring up those options automatically when a game is won.
  • Relaxed mode please!

Solitaire forever is my favorite solitaire game so I was excited to see this new collection from the same developer. I am enjoying exploring the new look etc. but I really miss I could choose the relaxed mode that the original Solitaire Forever has available. It is a small thing but it changes game play for those of us who want to be able to move groups of cards not just one card at a time. I also don’t like the timer and statistics being displayed so I am flopping back and forth at times between screens. I love the previews of the games and the many options for layouts. I just feel I will not play this as much because of the lack of being able to move groups of cards in my favorite games.
I heard back from the developer and he was very helpful. I do take exception however to his remark that allowing relaxed mode in the first Solitaire Forever was a mistake. I am not a Solitaire purest but I did realize that this mode changed the strategy of the original game. It did make it easier to win but it also meant that you use a different strategy to win the game and it did not insure you would always win. It seems to me there are quite a few games of solitaire available that allow you to play in the more difficult but traditional way. I enjoyed this relaxed mode because it changed the game a bit and made it different not a clone like the new Solitaire Forever 2. It also was just an option after all.
So the new Solitaire Forever 2 has new graphics, new controls and lots of games but you will be playing the same games you can play on many other apps and there is no ability to change to the old relaxed mode. If you like a timer running and stats being tallied you can now see that if you want. I play solitaire to relax and have fun. I doubt if I will be playing this game very much but others will no doubt love it.

I'm happy to hear that you're a fan of the first game! The "relaxed rules" option in the first game was primarily to allow partial piles to be moved in Klondike. In this new app, you can always move partial piles in Klondike, so you haven't lost anything. Changing the rules in other games was actually not a good idea. It removed the intended strategy of most games. But even this new app has relaxed versions of some of the 300+ games. Rather than turning on an option, a new game is listed as a "relaxed" version. You can hide the statistics by tapping the pull-tab icon in the lower left. If you still want 1-touch access to undo and redo, it might be better to tap the little arrows in the other corner to shrink the on-screen display.
  • Very good rendition!

Great things happen when you win a game. Very configurable when you figure out how to do it. The interface takes some getting used to but OK. The board could be sizable but it is OK, a little small for me.
  • Very nice

Hi there it’s a very nice easy to play and I love all the games and the cards to play with love it look forward to more games by this developer.
  • Not up to the standard of the old version!

I’ve been a user of the old version for a long time. The old version is simple to use. The user interface is intuitive. This new version is anything but!

The new version is a major disappointment and certainly not worth the price.

Hi! Sometimes change is good. This user interface displays the primary controls without clutter. More options are revealed by tapping the pull-tab icon in the lower-left. When you start up the app, you always proceed to the game selection screen first. You can see your game in progress if you wish to continue it, or easily switch to a different game without having to try to figure out how. I've had positive feedback for this U.I. I hope you come to like it too.
  • You Did It Again.

To the developer I don’t know if you remember me. I’m the one that uses to email you about your original game called Xolitaire. Well I still miss your original masterpiece but, I believe you have successfully produced another masterpiece with this one. I don’t know how many of you people out there may remember Xolitaire but it was hands down the greatest solitaire game ever. As one that has downloaded so many solitaire games to try to find one that could be a suitable replacement to Xolitaire. I can finally stop searching for I’ve finally found it in this one. You all maybe asking why wasn’t the first Solitaire Forever a suitable replacement? Because the first one didn’t have nearly the amount of options and ways to customize your gameplay experience. So to all out there take it from one that has downloaded practically every solitaire game in the App Store. This is the only solitaire game you’ll ever need hands down. To the developer of this masterpiece I only have but one very small request PLEASE BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL MUSIC FROM XOLITAIRE. That is the only thing I really miss the most from Xolitaire now. Because you pretty much brought Xolitaire back in a very polished fashion. Just bring back the soundtrack and this masterpiece will go from a 9.5 to a 1,000,000 for me. Thank you so much for finally bring another solitaire game masterpiece back to the App Store the search is finally over.

Yes, I remember you Jeremy! I sent you screenshots of this app 2 years ago, while it was in mid-development. I'm happy you like the final result. Sorry the music you love isn't here. If you pulled the music tracks out of Xolitaire, you could let another app play them in the background while you play solitaire. Email me if you need help grabbing the music tracks. I hope you continue to enjoy this app! It was a work of love, and I enjoyed making it.
