Works well but needs some work
I have used the app for about two years. It generally works well and has improved over time. Biggest annoyances I have: Faults showing on the poolside controller unit aren’t also shown in the app. For example, if there is a low salt warning on the controller unit screen it won’t notify you in the app. A blindingly obvious feature I would have thought … You don’t get a warning or notification when the pool is heated to your desired temp. Another obvious feature. I would love a feature that reminds me when the pool heater has been on for a nominated x hours. Sometimes my kids turn it on for a quick heat up and forget to turn it off. Wastes a massive amount of energy. I know there are menu items that will turn the heater off automatically but having a warning every hour or so that the heater is still on would be awesome. Many of the timer setting menus are not intuitive, particularly for heater set up and use. Often just one word is given next to the option and you’re left guessing what it means. Our pool installer from the biggest pool company in town struggled with setting up and using it. He had to get the manufacturer on the phone several times during pool setup to clarify how to use the app for heating, and he said he has been using the system and app for several years.
Please also add a feature where you can turn on the pool just once until a specific time rather than just for a specific number of hours. Thanks

USELESS
My whole pool is run by this app. Barely works even 1% of the time unable to do anything. It’s useless!

Thanks for your review... I think you need to contact support and work out why "99%" of time it's not working as we find that it's usually incredibly reliable.
Terrible
App not working. Can’t access WiFi and the screen is blank. Unable to control the pool and spa

Please contact support and let's work out how to fix your issues.
Missing functionality
1. Data logging, history etc reports to track temperatures, run times, etc.
2. Clean up buttons, tabs, sections of app. Seems that features are added etc but the look/feel has not been updated. Very clunky.
3. When you have multiple filter times set back to back with different pump speeds it will stop and restart the pump rather than just changing to the different speed.
4. Ability to utilise multi speed pumps more efficiently rather than just by timers.
5. Theralux need to improve the way that heat pumps are controlled by integrating both the heat pump app and the pool controller app. Also the way that they cut into the wiring to switch the heat pump on and off is just so poor when spending so much money. Heat pump should have a volt free contact that the pool controller switches

Thanks for the feedback. Some of your suggestions already in the pipeline these may be added in future versions.
User experience upgrade needed
UX needs an uplift - the functionality works, but the design of the app would be much better if:
1. When waiting to connect give a “connecting” icon until the connection is made. Otherwise ppl will keep tapping the screen
2. Allow me to select the image for the background as my pool. Something like “add a photo” to personalise it
3. I get you want to go cheaper on response web design to hit more devices, but why not look at just using a wrapper like Cordova or React Native. If will give the feel of a native app and the users will get a great uplift
4. Buttons are from the 80’s … that’s cool if it’s what your going for but when you generally throw down a few thousand on all the equipment you are managing through the app, you want the app to look polished, not cheap. Make the app look as good as all your users just made their pool look cool!
5. The lag time for of an on takes a while. Let the user know when the button has been pressed and give them an updating symbol

Thanks for the feedback. We appreciate your suggestions, where applicable they will be taken onboard.
Unbelievably bad
I can’t believe this kind of system exists! It fails on a daily basis. The lights (which cost $2000!) hardly ever turn on. Pool pump interface hardly ever works. Really disappointing. I’ve always looked after the maintenance of my pools and this system makes it very difficult.
