Promising app with flaws

This is the prettiest sup app out there and has promise but is not accurate so unusable right now. I’m hoping the developer is able to to adjust and update. Happy to be a beta tester!!

Like
- map and music control integration is good
- information layout is clean
- the log is excellent, especially the graph that shows speed over distance.

Needs improvement
- cadence is inaccurate. It only counts about half the strokes (sup) and seems to be tied to pace vs arm movement. Going from race pace to dead stop results in a positive stroke count being displayed for over a minute
- paddle strokes in log is wrong. For example a 20 min sup workout with a consistent 40+spm is logged as 14spm average with a total of 345 strokes
- middle ‘efficiency’ bar has no explanation or use so is just taking up space. I’d prefer to see it used as a configurable data field
- needs a current speed display in addition to pace

Needs more in Fitness app

Easy to use app with loads of information on the watch. What’s letting it down is the lack of information on the iPhone. I don’t need a separate app but would like to have more information such as distance and pace within activities in the apple fitness app. You can’t import into Strava either, so can’t see historical data easily.

App watch only

Nice app

Application super pour sorties SUP

L’étoile manquante pour donner 5 étoiles serait un lien vers une application sur iphone pour lire et comparer les statistique des sorties précédentes. Ce serait merveilleux d’ajouter ce lien 🤞🏻

Good SUP app

I like it. It’s easy, clear and nicely designed. The only reason for 4 starts instead of 5 is that it never gets my paddle strokes per side correct. I don’t know how difficult this is to code and I wouldn’t even expect it if it wasn’t part of the app but it consistently gets it wrong. Otherwise a great app that nicely integrates with Apple activity.

Great app and super after sales service

Excellent and informative app for SUPers. Had a problem to install it again on a new watch. Troubleshooting was immediate and issue resolved.
Great App and SUPer Service

Overall good!

One issue though, how can i go back and see my statistic, in the health app i can only see calories time and map, what about my candance, paddles per arm etc. I cannot see a way to see it on the watch either...

Was great tracking my distance

But 1. - shutting the app off- difficult
2. Getting your data- takes a computer scientist- deleting and looking for an app that’s compatible w my watch AND phone
3. Read the reviews

Response from developer

Thanks for your feedback. I certainly read the reviews and reply, as you can see below. In one of those replies, I explained, that i am currently working on a companion iPhone app. Currently GoSUP is a watch only app, as marked in the Appstore. I would appreciate to know what I can improve on GoSUP. I’m a indie developer and I work on it with a lot of passion. I also try to give you the best experience possible!

A couple of bugs but very good app

I tried this out for the first time today and was very impressed. But I noticed two significant bugs.

1 is the auto lock feature. If you start a session and then unlock the watch. There is a button to lock the watch on the app home screen. But if you press it, it doesn’t swipe to the info screen with the compass and stats. Because the watch is locked you can’t do this yourself so it is stuck on the screen with the pause and stop button.

Another issue I had is that when we got to the end of our route and turned around it wasn’t registering any speed at all, despite the distance incrementing. I tried to pause and unpause the session and eventually it started showing some sped. However when looking at my track and syncing it to strava I can see that at that point my position jumped all over the place and my session now has a section where I went 146km/h

Will try it again to see if that was a one off fluke.

Fix these issues and it will be 5 stars.

Response from developer

Thanks a lot for your Feedback, this is very valuable to me. I could reproduce the issue concering the waterlock and I'll fix it in the next update. I will also check the issue with the speed metric and potentially add some safe guards to the registered location updates. Hopefully that will fix your problem.

Where did my workout Go?

I used the app for a recent paddle and it worked great. Now where did the data go?

Response from developer

Hi You can find your Paddle Session on the Welcome screen, where the paddle board is displayed. Just scroll up. The data is also synced to HealthKit and you can find it in the activity app on your iPhone.
