  • Good game, replaying chapters is broken

The game overall is good, and the stories are well written, but there is an issue with replaying chapters for the highest possible score. Dying in a chapter means you are no longer entitled to the bonus points for staying alive throughout the chapter, and if you die in one of your playthroughs, there is an annoying bug that says you have a death on the final score board and robs you of your points on EVERY replay. It seems the only way to overcome it thus far is to replay the chapter a million times and hope it doesn’t happen on one of the retries.

  • Incredibly well made

Same as a lot of other commenters, I downloaded this “game” out of boredom without expecting much. However I was pleasantly surprised immediately with how well written and in depth the interactive story was. The characters are well developed and the choices are meaningful. While there are not alternate endings to chapters (other than premature death), the choices you make will change the course of events that take you to that ending significantly. The consequences of actions can range from obvious to baffling. However, the even the outcomes that seem much different than you expected can be traced to events in the story more often than not. Sometimes these can be as minor is tiny details or off hand comments from pages before. This forces you to really immerse yourself in the story and consider everything that goes into your decisions (in a fun way). I laughed at the idea of paying for the premium version of this game, but it only took until the second chapter of the first story before I bought it with an in game offer for $10. Mostly to remove ads but also to support developers of games like these. My only comment would be that I really hope the stories that say “under development” really are just that. I’m hesitant to start those out of fear that they might not be finished and I’ll be left on a cliffhanger forever!

Thank you for your excellent, in-depth review! I do take pride in making consequences make sense, at least in hindsight and I'm glad you're able to see the sense in most of them. :) Yes, Ranger's Choice, Demon's Choice, and Rogue's Choice are getting more content. We just shipped Rogue's Choice 17 and 18 is mostly done. AND thank you for the support with Premium! :)
  • Enjoying it so far.......

Have enjoyed the narrative so far, I’ve just finished the wizard story line.
There are obviously improvements that could be made; more art, the addition of animated cut scenes would really enhance the users experience.
I am excited to see where this could go in the future.
As I previously mentioned, I have enjoyed this story so far but I can’t get past the Rouge’s story line; The adverts are now getting absolutely silly, as are the collections of coins to open the next chapters. I understand the creator of these short stories wants to make some money, but this is a joke. Having to try and earn coins to be able to move forward in this story, mixed with never ending ads!!
As much as I am enjoying theses story’s I may not read much more due to the ads and ‘throttling’ of the ‘flow’.
In summery, I feel like I have to to delete the app, a shame a real shame. As spending £20 isn’t real value for money, sorry.

  • Great fun! Worth supporting! Keep up the good work!

The Adventures are great fun and they are challenging, more so as you go along. There is tragedy, adventure, humor, and heroism! Really enjoying it. It is clear the company is doing this as a labor of love; really working hard to put out a good product and doing a good job of it. They’re not money hungry or trying to get dollars out of you at every turn. The kind of developer and company I am very happy to support! Thank you for your efforts, they are much appreciated! Keep up the good work!!

  • Solid RPG

I downloaded this on a whim since I have always been interested in Dungeons & Dragons and this looked like it could fill some of that interest. It did not disappoint. I have had a bunch of fun playing through the Wizard’s Choice story, the writing is engaging and I had fun working through the choices. Watching some ads to unlock further stories is not too bad, just be sure to watch all 3 you are allowed to each time you’re prompted to avoid having to wait to unlock the next chapter.

My one frustration is that as the story progressed there seemed to be fewer and fewer possible paths to success. Especially in the final chapter that I am on now, I feel there is too much trial and error, memorizing the correct choices instead of allowing me to enjoy the story and just restart if I make a stupid choice.

Overall I would recommend this game, I am excited to see what the other storylines have to offer!

Thank you for the review and the feedback! I'll have a look at Wizard's Choice 6 and see if it could use some massaging. It is a tough one, but I don't want it to be a grind. I think you'll like the other series even more. :)
  • Way better than expected

So I downloaded this just mindlessly looking for a new game to play because I get bored of phone games pretty easily. Came across this and thought “hey why not?”, and now I’m totally glad I did. This is very interactive, the story is great, the situations are ones that make you think about the outcome, and I love that they’re pictures every so often to kinda show what’s happening. I like that kind of commitment to the readers. And I love the humor, to lighten things up and keep readers interested (at least it keeps me interested). Only thing is I think there should be some explanation how the in game currency and morale work. Life and mana I get, but as far as I know, morale and gold haven’t played a role. Then again I just finished the first chapter and will absolutely continue to the next!

Thank you for review! It's fun to surprise people who don't necessarily realize what they've downloaded. :) In answer to your question, Gold and Morale is just for your final score, although that can matter for unlocking the "Highest Rank" achievement which gives you virtual currency for free (Coins and Luck). Note that Coins are not the same as "Gold". Gold is what your character in the story gets, while Coins are what you, as a player use to unlock additional chapters.
  • Well Written and Well Thought Out

Hi there, I don’t think I have ever given a review before. This was a roller coaster of a story so far, I felt pressure, I was given clues and I was given hard choices to make to advance the story. There were choices that were presented as potentially complicated that ended up being simple and other seemingly simple choices that ended up becoming much more complex to interact with than what it appeared to be.

All in all, I found this to be a refreshing adventure.

  • Absolutely Amazing

I was instantly gripped from the start! The way the story is written and styled I couldn’t help but be immersed from the very beginning.

I truly couldn’t fault this genre of gaming and story telling, I’m only on the first story but making each individual decision truly forces me to think and the anticipation of the results makes me want to read more.

I will happily buy the premium once I am paid because I want to see more stories in the future!

  • Good downtime fun

I really enjoy the different pathways decisions can lead to, it makes you really stop and think. It’s well written and I feel like I’m learning the character (I was saddened pretty quickly over one character). Is the premium worth $20? It doesn’t seem like it up front, but dig further and you’ll see there’s a LOT of content behind that $20 that the coins won’t get you all the way through. Plus I feel like it’s supporting good people behind the wall, not some massive money grab Corp.

  • Drakuseth

This is an amazing game!! Even though I have just started, I don’t think it will ever begin to bore me. Only bit of confusion I had was I didn’t see the mana, life bar at first but I did find it so maybe in a later update new players could be shown? Otherwise, great game!
