Leave a Review SharkSmart WA
Updates by date
A good starter app, but some tweaks need to be made… It would be helpful if the sightings could be sorted by date, as the default which cannot be changed, is not helpful.Developer Response
Thanks for your feedback. The 'Updates' page is divided into three sections. 'Nearby' which provides reports within 5km of your current location, 'Your Favourites' and 'Other Locations'. The most recent information is provided first in date/time order, however if there is an active 'warning' in an area, this will be pinned to the top of the information. Some warnings such as the presence of a whale carcass may remain in place for an extended period of time. If you have any additional concerns or feedback please email sharksmart@dpird.wa.gov.auMissing one feature.
Would be great if Alerts could be shared via a text message or website link from the App to others in a future update. Also info on WA government approved shark deterrent devices and how to receive rebate. Otherwise great appSienna Moo Moo
This app is very helpful, it’s not only good for when I want to go to the beach, it’s also good if you are interested in learning shark behaviour around different times of the year. 😊😊🦈Perth’s Best Safe Shark App Ever
I am loving this Perth Safe Shark App, please keep recommending this app, it will honestly save your life, and loved ones.
Keep it up Lifeguards. 🏄♀️🏄♀️🏄♀️🏄♀️🏄♀️🏄♀️Good app, but not user-friendly for sharks.
I've noticed NOT many Sharks have been logging themselves in? Perhaps developers have overlooked the fact that sharks don't have any hands?
i suggest we help them by painting QR codes onto their bellies, as they swim over a scanner on the ocean floor surrounding the swim beaches, then they are automatically logged in. Sharks will appreciate it.

Have we learned nothing from history? Artificially increasing Sharks intelligence will doom us all. Do not let the warnings from the documentary Deep Blue go unheeded.Update issues
I’ve just updated the app as I use it often and it now isn’t opening. Any tips?Developer Response
Thank you for your feedback. Can you please email us at sharksmart@dpird.wa.gov.au so we can investigate why the app is no longer working on your device?Excellent
Excellent to get live updates. But the map/location directions are completely wrong. For example an alert might say: Meelup Beach - NORTH of dunsborough
This is completely incorrect as Meelup is SOUTH of dunsborough
This happens all the time due to incorrect map reading
Other than that - highly recommendShow lessDeveloper Response
Thank you for your feedback. We're glad you like the app. With regards to the location of Meelup Beach, I think confusion has potentially arisen as Meelup Beach is further along the coastal route than Dunsborough if you are following the coast south. However, if you have a look at the map again you can see that this part of the coast, heading out along the peninsula towards Cape Naturaliste curves in a northern direction from Dunsborough, therefore Meelup is north of Dunsborough. If you have any further questions or suggestions on the app please let us know and thanks again for taking the time to write your review, we appreciate the feedback.Great initiative
Fantastic to see the state government take a proactive not reactive approach to dealing with sharks 🦈. It’s in no way designed to put you off swimming or surfing, merely informing. App is simple, informative, customisable to suit your needs.Shows sharks around you
There’s a lot of them hey.
