I ordered from Mr. Empanada at 11:21am. The Mr. Empanada‘s (Lutz) manager called me 50 mins later asking me who was coming to pick up my order and I had no idea what he was talking about, because I was unaware that their restaurant website receives their online orders via a third party company called Chownow. It took them an hour to actually receive my order to start working it. My dissatisfaction with this app experience is twofold. First, is that the manager of this restaurant was extremely rude and frustrated with me because I had no idea why my food wasn’t being processed correctly through this platform. Secondly, because of the issue they were having with the system I asked if I could just cancel the order and get it refunded. The manager said he couldn’t do it on his end that I had to reach out to Chownow to cancel. He reiterated that this was not his fault and hung up on me. I tried calling Chownow, no one picked up the phone and their chat feature is not user friendly at all.
I would not recommend the Chownow platform to any restaurants and will steer clear of online ordering from any restaurants using it because of the fact that the customer service is horrible not only from the restaurants that apparently use it, but from the app as well.
