  • Could be better but good

Of course I see everything that says it over weighs, this is just a suggestion that I would like. The ability to not include the tank in the calculations for free diving because 7mm suits can be quite buoyant and may they need some weighing down, it may also be helpful for snorkeling
  • Possibly Good

This app is super simple to use, very intuitive.
It does however not match what I use (or others I checked with), weight wise.
Also, it appears to not correctly convert between pounds and kg.
  • Doesn’t work anymore

Used this for multi-mode buoyancy calculations as a ball-park estimation, mostly for vacation when diving in different configurations. Worked well for that application, but App doesn’t work anymore. Deleting.
  • Totally inaccurate

I’m a DM with 40 years experience i dive with 22 lbs the app Calc my required weight at 34lbs.
  • Ballpark Calculator

Not bad as it will get you somewhere near your required weight. I’ve used this as a weight estimator for my students and it always overweights them sometimes by a significant amount. Once you get used to it you’ll start to come up with a fudge factor that works for you. Once you know what your fudge factor is properly weighting yourself when changing tanks, exposure suits and environment becomes a snap.

  • Not safe

The weight recommended to me was almost 4 times the amount that is considered safe for me. Someone relying on this could literally be killed due to being overweighted and drown.

2 stars because the interface was easy to navigate.
  • Error for steel tanks?

When switching from steel 100 to steel 80, the calculator says add 1 lbs. This must be wrong?
  • Alright, but only for single tank diving

Limited cylinder sizes and no option to add more than one
  • Doesn’t work properly

I entered my weight as 94 kg and it said I needed 7.6kg. I then changed it to 207 lb (94kg) and it said I needed 28lb. 28lb is more 12kg. Not much use.....
  • This calculator is off

This is off by a lot!! It doesn’t factor height or muscle mass so just based on weight it gives you a much higher allotment of weight to wear while diving!
