In cultura veritas

This digital catalogue is intended for all the interested visitors who want to explore the abundance of the local cultural and natural heritage, as well as get a taste of the rich wine-growing and gastronomic tradition of the cross-border region between the Zagreb County in Croatia and the Obsotelje and Kozjansko sub-region in Slovenia. It was developed within the In cultura veritas project worth EUR 1,003,317.00. The project was 85 % co-financed by the Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Interreg V-A Slovenia-Croatia 2014 - 2020. Six partners from Slovenia and Croatia participate in the project - Zagreb County (CRO, leading partner), the Association of Croatian Travel Agencies (CRO), the Museum Documentation Center (CRO), the Development Agency Sotla (SI), the Šmarje pri Jelšah Municipality (SI), and the Slovene Chamber of Agriculture and Forestry - Institute of Agriculture and Forestry Maribor (SI). This catalogue comprises information on the tourist and cultural offer on four wine routes included in the project: the Plešivica, Zelina, Samobor (Zagreb County), and Šmarje-Virštanj (Obsotelje and Kozjansko) routes. It is divided into three main parts - Winemakers, Cultural Heritage, and Interesting Facts/Legends. The list of winemakers contains key information, photos, and a cartographic mark of the location of each winemaker in the selected town or municipality. The cultural heritage contains a list of cultural and natural heritage sites, which could awaken the interest of visitors who want to know more about the cultural heritage of this area, but also of those who are interested in nature and aim at enjoying the local natural resources. The part Interesting Facts/Legends provides more information on famous persons, historical events, ad legends pertaining to the project's area. This catalogue can be browsed from the comfort of your home, on a computer or smartphone, as well as by visiting one of the places included in the catalogue, by using smart benches and the info stand installed in the project's course.
