  • Watch battery drain

Kills the watch battery even when not running.
  • Counts Double Workouts

I downloaded this app because I added the Runn treadmill sensor to my treadmill. Since Apple workout won’t read the data from Runn, I used this app on my Apple Watch to record my workout. It reads all the data correctly from the Runn and uses my heart rate from the Watch. The problem? After the workout is complete, it records double the miles I actually ran in Apple Fitness. North Pole support says it’s a bug that will be fixed in the next version. Been waiting since mid February. If they can fix this bug, I’ll give it 5 stars. Does everything I want…except the double counting.
I know the Runn is outputting correct data because I can use it with the Kinomap app and it does not count double mileage.

  • Been using it for two years….

….. without an issue. Does what it says. I use it as my HRM while cycling.
  • What happened?!!!

I used to be able to connect all the time and all the sudden with Heartbeatz 2.0 I can’t get my Heartbeatz device to connect to my phone or my watch! Very frustrating!
  • Missing important metrics

No speed, cadence, incline, etc?? Then what’s the point? I can just tell my watch to record an indoor walk/run. The whole purpose of having this app connected to my Runn device is to record all aspects of my treadmill workout. I only see the ability to record a “cardio” or “hitt” workout, no runs or anything else.

  • Most recent update is a total fail.

The recent update removed the ability to record a walk or run- just cardio and HIIT. The only reason I use this app is to connect the RUNN I have to my watch, and this update has rendered it completely useless. The developers said they’d be fixing this issue weeks ago and still nothing.
  • Where’s distance metrics?

A week ago it was working great. Now it seems I have 2 choices of workouts , cardio and HIT. The cardio has no distance or pace metric from my Runn device. That is literally this apps only job is to bring data from my RUNN to the workout app. It looks like the legacy Heartbeatz might still work for this, but I shouldn’t need that version with an Apple Watch ultra. Useless in its current version, it wasn’t broke, but now is. Please bring back the distance and pace for RUNN with treadmill!!!

  • Great

Once you get it dialed in this works perfectly. I’m using a Series 6 Apple Watch. The key for this watch was that you have to close all the other apps on the watch that might be using the heart rate. Easy to do - just press the button below the knob and then swipe each app left to close. After that it pairs right away and works. This doesn’t change any of the baseline function of the watch. Only feature request would be to change the watch faces. I’d like elapsed time, distance, pace on one screen. Can’t seem to get that now.

  • Doesn’t work with iOS 16 and Watch OS 9

Since upgrading my Garmin doesn’t work with Heartbeatz on iOS 16 and Watch OS 9 please fix
  • Unstable and unusable

I spent $100 on their RUNN treadmill sensor but this terrible app is so unstable it is not usable with it. Don’t know why they took an app for a different piece of hardware and used it but it shows. It has never worked right. Example: Latest update for I watch os8 broke the app again. I purchased the RUNN treadmill sensor to use on my incline treadmill to get accurate distance and elevation change. The latest version no longer shows how much total I have climbed nor does it report it to Apple fitness for tracking. At first NPE customer service wouldn’t even believe that there was a new version until I sent a snapshot of the App Store, then finally they admitted they broke it, again. Do not waste your time with this app or purchase the RUNN box. The RUNN concept is great just not the execution in this app which has never worked right with it.
