BEST MONEY SPENT

If you are someone looking to learn about cosmetology without going to school this is the app for you. I downloaded this app in hopes of getting more than I get out of the school of YouTube. Now I’m enrolled in beauty school and I feel this app teaches me more than the actual teachers here in school. It’s really beauty school on an app. Too bad this cannot be used as school for your licensing. It would save me $23,000.

Catching back up

After falling behind in school due to being absent with covid , I was really struggling with things. This app has helped me catch back up to the class but seems to have offered me with even better guidance on some procedures. I subscribed for the teacher version so would have the info on hat teachers look for and have the foot notes to print for myself. Very thankful this app has taken the time to give clear and concise directions!

Pass your state boards with ease!

This app is great! For beauty school students everywhere, you can reinforce your knowledge and get through the areas you may have trouble learning in your program. There are very detailed guidelines in each lesson. If you’re a “visual learner” the short videos of various techniques are helpful. I know they work for me when I need to “see” how to do it. This app gives you lessons on styling, six basic haircuts, haircolor, chemical services, skin and nails, textured hair, basically it’s state board! I love that there are practical applications for each service. Believe me when I say if you are diligent and use the techniques, do the haircuts, and pass the quizzes, you will breeze right through your state boards!

Needs more content

I got the monthly subscription, but wasn’t what I thought it would be they don’t do a full video of any haircut they only teach basic education what you would learn in school.

We never want to mislead. Basic cosmetology IS our purpose. The app teaches basic cosmetology through 35 classes and 368 step-by-step procedures. We have 49 short films and 105 tests focused on cosmetology theory, which we have found many students struggle with. We do have 2 full videos of haircuts—a round layered haircut and a square layered haircut—along with dozens of shorter films focused on tools, techniques, and haircutting theory. Filmbook content was actually created for a cosmetology school to teach basic cosmetology to students. We are sorry Filmbook wasn’t what you expected, and we want to make it right. Please know you can request a refund. Please send us an email at support@filmbook.com. Thank you. UPDATE July 2021: We now have 4 full videos of haircuts—a one-length haircut, a round layered haircut, a square layered haircut, and a clipper cut. We also added 2 new business classes: Starting Your Career and Owning a Salon. In all, you get 37 classes and over 50 how-to films when you subscribe.

Love Filmbook!

I love this app—it’s so intuitive and so nice to have both the videos and the step-by-step guides! The videos are the perfect pace for me. Highly recommend!

Wow great app

I gotta say, this was great in helping with class, study and practice. Easy peasy to use. Videos and text are strong. Great education and training tool for anyone starting out in the beauty business! A friend who’s very successful in the business suggested I check it out. I don’t use many apps, but this may change that!

Absolutely love this app! 😃 It has so many haircutting and hair coloring instructions in it. I finished cosmetology school but this has so much in it I didn’t learn in school!!! (Or my teachers didn’t explain very well 😂) I had trouble with cutting long layers, razor cuts, perms (ugh), and double process. Wish I had this when I was in school, it would have helped me understand everything better. If you want learn cosmetology you should get this!!! It’s really complete and very helpful.
